Hi Everyone, I"m Aimee from Baton Rouge and scheduled w/Dr. Drake Bellanger on May 30 for Lapband and excited and nervous!

I've read horror stories all night about removals, slippages, etc and was happy to come here and read positives

:nervous

Good Morning and congradulations on your date. I just moved from Lafayette last Dec. Got to watching adv. here in Houston on the lapband and started doing research. Called and got setup for seminar and less than one month later had my surgery. As one bandster told me stay away from the complications post. Yes they do happen but to a very small percentage.I would do it again in a heart beat. You go girl. :D

Thank you! I'm excited and not really so nervous, just reading the posts made me want to ask a few more questions. I do have a question re: medicines...I take Allegra and two other smaller pills daily...with the band does it interfere with taking meds? does anyone know?:)

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. As far as medicines are concerned, your level of restriction may dictate how large of a pill you can tolerate. If possible, try to get a liquid alternative of what you're taking. If the 2 smaller pills are smaller than the size of a regular M&M, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Good luck!

Hello from Cenla! Was banded June 1, 2006 by Dr. Verboonan in Tijuana--self-pay cuz state insurance WON'T pay! Have lost right at 40 pounds. Did fill recently with Dr. Mando in Kenner. Cheap...$180 but no fluoro and no local. Hurt! Got total of 5 cc in 10 cc French midband. Too much fill this time, but don't have time to take off from work and go back to Kenner. Hoping to lose 30 more by Christmas.
