    Vitamin Requirements

Can yall share some info that your individual docs/nutritionists gave you regarding daily requirements? Calcium? What about Iron? I'm currently taking Flintstones but have been trouble finding specific VSG requirements, are they the same as Gastric Bypass requirements? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks yall!!
  2. Hello everyone...My doc has put me on B12 Injections once monthly (partly due to the fact that I'm not taking my vitamins on a regular basis whatsoever...please..no lectures) I was wondering if anyone else has done any self-injections or had these. My mom is going to teach me, she's had RNY and has been taking these for years. I've been researching like CRAZY...I'm no chicken, but the needle is a 25 gage 1.5" long....gahhh!! (the pharmacist recommended it) I've read that its and intramuscular injection. (ouch) and i know the places to do it...arm, thigh or butt (ouch ouch ouch) I just don't want to be sore for a week out of each month. Might go to a 1"...can anyone chime in on their own experiences with this? or perhaps any nurses out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Tips for Success

What more is there to say after Tiffy's post! I'm 1 year 4 months out, lost 100#. My advice: STICK TO INSTRUCTIONS AT THE VERY BEGINNING...it sets you up for sucess...my hardest time was my fist 2 months... I took on a totally different attitude towards food....At first I mourned it, then I was disinterested, then I treated it as energy (i.e. food in=energy out) Then...eventually, I came back full circle to comfort, savory enjoyment....in between all that, I had a hell of an emotional journey (which is still happening!) I eat what I like, what I crave, what I want...I LOVE IT!! Believe it or not, it will be a challenge to EAT ENOUGH CALORIES (at least for me it is) Keep reading posts here, its hands down the BEST INFORMATION you can find out there, from real people who are living it everyday!! Hope this helps!! Good Luck! Shontel

    Breasts:

To answer the original post: Scars or Sag? Before you begin to seriously sag, you might thing 'sag' lol I was really worried about scars before my Breast Lift/Augmentation...once I saw those puppies i was like....screw the scars these girlies are SWEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT!!!! TRUST ME, scars are the biggest thing you worry about before you get em, and the SMALLEST thing you think about after you get em!! There are also some EXCELLENT scar therapy's out there now. I'm just 2 weeks out and my scars are already fading with the help of Mederma. Also, I should mention here, that having a boob job will make you look more porpotined again (I didn't go super hudge) you will get volume back in your chest area, yeee haaaaa!!

    boob job question...

I didn't go to Mexico, though I know a lot of women do. I did go to Mexico for my VSG surgery. One of the reasons I decided to stay closer to home for this procedure, is that post op breast lift/breast augmentation is a process that needs to be closely supervised. You will need multiple follow up appointments to ensure they are healing properly and dropping into their final position. I knew this would be an investment but for me, but it was worth it. I have had no problems whatsoever but have had 3 post op appointments with another one in a week....I like knowing that if I need to, I can receive proper follow up. a side note here.....I had problems after I had VSG that was related to one of my surgical wounds, I got HORRIBLE treatment post op here in the states. By that I mean, they (mainly the doc's, but a lot of nurses as well) totally judged me, smirked at me, I had doctors flat out tell me I was 'irresponsible' for going there....that is a whole other thread I could start..lol I just didn't want to go through all that again either! Hope that Helped!!

    Need New Boobies

Some plastic surgeons want to make sure your weight is STABLE, that you've been able to maintain and are steady before they will operate. I suggest this as well as your weight will affect the final result you want. Hope this helps!

    boob job question...

2 weeks ago, I had a breast lift with implants. I have a full anchor lift along with areola reduction. I have never lost sensation, although I can tell you I hear from lots of women that the 'sensual' feeling for many does not return. A trade off I gladly take considering I have some pretty girlies now!!
  15. OK so I'm kinda cross posting from my blog but I hope to find someone who has had a similar experience. I have been having extreme pain for about a week. The pain is where my large incision is on my left side. 2 nights ago I noticed a knot the size of an orange over my incision. I was also red and extremely warm. So, went to the ER yesterday..had a contrast CT scan..and it shows a accumulation of fluid/blood/abcess? I was put on strong antibiotics and given the number of a surgeon (who does sleeves) (refresher-I had my surgery in Mexico Nov 27th) So Monday if this doesn't begin to go down on its own I will probably have to have it DRAINED...I'm just picturing an elephant needle/syringe. Or perhaps a tube style drain?? I am so worried...and in so much pain. Anyone been through anything similar? Oh, the good news is that found the sleeve to be perfect with no leaks..yay...one good thing! anyones comments on their personal stories are really appreciated.

    Setback

Well, since my New Orleans trip, I have been having pain in my left side by my big incision. Pretty much worse than post op. I just kept dealing with it, can't bend over without being in pain...so Christmas eve night, I noticed above my large incision, a ball formed about the size of an orange...and it was warm & red. My fiance' & I decided we'd go to the ER Christmas morning in the hopes it wouldn't be busy. (my kiddo's are all older so no worries there) So, long drawn out story short, I had a contrast CT scan done...which shows a large accumulation of fluid? Blood? abcess? They put me on mega antibiotics and said that I have to contact this surgeon on Monday. Apparently, if it doesn't go down on its own, it will have to be DRAINED...ok...now, look, my thresh hold for pain is HIGH....but this is some serious pain. Well a real tenderness....so the thought of an elephant syringe/needle or even worse...another cut...with a tube drain...the thought just makes me want to cry...in fact that's pretty much what I have been doing since Christmas Eve. On a high note, the CT image w/contrast showed absolutely no leak in my sleeve...and believe me, drinking 3 glasses of that Metalic Crystal Light was NO FUN!!! (Can you say nausea?) Well, I guess I just had to vent...I know that if this doesn't go down, draining it will probably provide immediate relief. I mean I'm a month out so I guess I just figured if this was going to happen it already would have. If anyone is reading this and have had a similar situation feel free to comment...I'm scared to have the draining process, but look forward to some relief.

    6 Month Update

Hey there everyone, haven't been on here in FOREVER!! So much has been happening in my life! I wanted to give a brief update (also as usual will plug my YouTube videos which I also did a 6 month update my username: scneaux) I'm down 75 pounds and in a size 6!! I have not been feeling 100 % though. I think I might have a HERNIA...I've been having inclement pain and a bulge above my largest incision (remember, the one where I had the ABCESS??) I've been dealing with it awhile now, and sort of putting it off since I have no insurance at this time (Aetna dropped me when I went to renew and found out I'd had this procedure, another whole rant on that) anywho, I am about to just break down and go see about it, its becoming more and more uncomfortable and I know it has to be dealt with. On another note, we did have our Key West vacation and it was FABULOUS! I was able to walk and do whatever I wanted, even though I lost my voice and had this aching pain in my abdomen..grrrrrrrr...I did manage to go snorkeling and see some really beautiful sunsets. We rented a suite (and a hot little Camero..whooo hoooo) and all was right with the world even for a few days. Well, Sorry I missed the 5 month update, but all has been good with me regarding food issues (I eat whatever I want) the trick for me is to eat FREQUENTLY. I promise to keep this blog up for those who are new and need information!

    4.5 Month update

Hey everyone, haven't been here in awhile, but wanted to keep up blog since I've been doing this one from the start. I have been doing more 'vlogging' on YouTube (scneaux is my user name if anyone is interested) Anywho, just thought I'd write to catch everyone up on my progress. I've lost another 4 pounds, so that brings my total to 64 pounds lost in a little over 4 months. I've not been doing the Couch 25K program, due to some muscle issues. But I do plan on getting back on it as soon as I am able. I've been really noticing my weight loss, as has eveyone else. I'm now down to a size 10 from a 16. The 10's are getting to 'roomy' for me now, however. I'm in a med shirt but some smalls fit me better. I am getting a new camera, so will take some new photos soon and post them. Especially when we go on vacation next month (can't wait!!) That's all for now, thanks for reading everyone!!
