Please help...

Does anyone know of the best and least expensive doctor in any country (less than $8000.) I am new to LBT and have a low BMI of 30-32. I have been considering surgery for about a year but found that that my BMI was too low for surgery in the US because I don't have other complications. I read that many surgeons in Mexico will treat low BMI patients with prices from $8000-$12000. If any one can suggest the best doctor for low bmi and low cost for cash patients. I know about the added cost for follow up care or air fair. I feel a little hopeless with the BMI and financial restrictions so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, MX. My date is the 31st. I have only heard good things about him, thank goodness. lol Good luck. I too don't qualify here in the states for the surgery. I would have to gain an additional 50 lbs to be considered by my insurance. That is just not an option. Someday hopefully doctors will realize that someone needing to get rid of 80 lbs is just as hard as someone trying to get rid of 200 lbs. We are all different. Good luck.

And sometimes you don´t need to have a BMI of 32, if you start having high blood pressure, you are an excellent candidate for surgery. So don´t worry about it....

Umm....I wouldn't have recommended any surgeon that I feel would take somebody's life (for a small fee). I was simply stating what mine cost and I don't think it is fair for you to dismiss it because you consider it too cheap, so therefore it must be substandard.

That is what I paid and I have not died, I have not had any complications so far (knock on wood). My surgeon was absolutely wonderful and skilled, despite the low cost.

Any surgery could cost somebody their life, no matter what the price tag.

As per guidelines set up when we all joined this forum, there is to be NO advertisement or solicitation of any specific Doctor, Clinic, hospital, center, etc.

Please refrain from the kinds of posts listed here on this thread from occurring again. This is a support forum not a place to increase patient population for a specific Doctor, Clinic, Hospital, Center, etc.

I went to Monterrey and had surgery with Dr. Sanchez for $7,999. I would recommend him, his staff, and the hospital with no second thoughts. The entire surgery was above any reproach. Just be sure that you can arrange aftercare before going the Mexico route.
