I Am One Week Pre-Op And I Am Getting Very Weak.

I am a private duty nurse with a fulltime patient that is counting on my strength but while I am on my liver shrinking diet I am loosing a lot of muscle mass which everyday is making it more difficult to take care of my patient. is there anything you would suggest.

the high Protein shakes should be taking care of that I would think but I'm not a dr or a nurse. I'm 2 days in and the shakes are gagging me, trying to chug them down the best I can. I'm drinking Isopure, one bottle has 40g Protein, I only drink half at mealtime. My fav is the Grape. My doc said if my sugar dropped or I felt like passing out to eat half of a Protein Bar, they told me Pure Protein, it was the highest in protein grams that I got today. My first night, last night, was awful, I had nausea, headache, dizzy, the shakes all over and nearly passed out. Today I'm better, much better. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hang in there, you can do this! You are almost there...

Hang in there, I've had a few of those spells after surgery my bloodwork showed I had a little lie iron but still low end of normal. Keep that protein intake even a spoonful of peanut butter or some cottage cheese might help.
