Banded On March 20 And Still No Fill

Hi everyone. I was banded on March 20 and i still have not received my first fill. Is this normal? I went to the doctor expecting to get one on May 4 but he said since i had lost 11 pounds since the previous visit that i wasn't getting one. I still can't eat that much and after maybe a half cup of food i feel as though the food is up in my throat. Does anyone else get this feeling when they eat? Do you have any suggestions on ways to stop from getting that feeling?

I agree. You don't need a fill if you are losing, and you are not struggling to "diet" and starving while doing it. I am sitting here with the food backed up feeling. The thought of a fill? No way.

If you are getting "that feeling", and a half cup of food satisfies you, you don't need a fill. Many people go months without a fill. To avoid getting the feeling of being stuck, make sure you are cutting food into pea-sized bites, take one at a time and chew it 15-25 times. Eat your dense Protein first, so if you have to stop eating, your protein requirement has been met. Congrats on your weight loss success so far!

To stop the food in the throat feeling... take smaller bites, chew very well, pause between bites, and stop eating at the first tiny signal you are satisfied. NOT full. Just now I pushed beyond satisfied because it tasted good, and it seemed like I had such a little bit on my plate. I did however stop when I felt some discomfort telling me I was being stupid. 5 minutes later all is well. Had I kept eating, it would have led to a stuck episode and vomiting.

Congrats on your loss so far!

Thats great. You do not need a fill. Keep those when you really need them. Your story sounds very similar to me. But im just now starting to get a little bit more appetiate
