Looking For A June Buddy!

My surgery went very well today. They got me all ready with the IV and in my gown by 11:00 am and took me down to the operating room, which was freezing, but as soon as they "knocked me out" I woke up in the recovery room. I had the best recovery nurses. The only "painful" parts was the numbing agent for the IV which just stung a little, and It felt funny to breathe, like a good bit of pressure on my chest when I woke up but the nurses took awesome care of me and made sure I was comfortable until i got in my room. My incisions are sore but other than that I'm doing great! Already been up walkin around and sipping Water. you will do great! Try not to stress or worry about the surgery part none of it is bad enough to not get the band. I am so happy I'm staying over night. I think it makes. Difference from what I've read and now experiencing. Good luck! I'll continue to share tomorrow how I feel and so forth!

Good for you... me to I am up now walking allover just waiting 48 hrs to make sure that everything is good...

Hey guys,

Just want to give you an update. Im very sore today, kind of hard to pull myself up without help but it's not unbearable thank the lord. My throat is sore due to the breathing tube, but Im not experiencing anymore trapped gas, hopefully that is all out. I've just been snoozing away and takin advantage of getting taken care of. Still sipping Water from the little medicine cups and using my little "breathing machine" I have to do 10 times every hour and cough. My blood pressure is staying on the low side but other than that, pretty much sums the night and this morning so far. I'll keep you guys updated as things change. Thanks so much everyone for your support. :) I have a feeling everyone is going to do great as well!

Hi all

A quick update today I wake up with pain on my both shoulders and sore on my stomach I tried to manage without pain killers as I am breastfeeding but I couldn’t.. half an hour from the pain killer medication I am feeling great and walking all over the place to get rid from the gas and again I was expecting that it will be worse than that but thanks God not too bad and manageable especially with the medication… I am able to get up and down on my own no issues…I started a cup of Soup very nice especially finally I have some salty taste after the two weeks sweaty and cold Protein Shake and also drink half cup of cranberry juice which tastes great and no issues thanks God..

You will all be fine don’t worry..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
