Premier Protein Shakes

Recommended Posts

I'm consuming two a day during the pre op diet. Since they are so low in carbs and sugar, I was wondering if I could consume three a day. What are your thoughts on this? Any feedback would be helpful. Please share :)

Thanks,

Lala

They have me doing 2 Protein shakes a day that are under 200 cal and have at least 15gm of Protein and 1 meal under 300 cal, under 15 carbs and over 15gm of protein for days 1-7 of the pre-op diet. Then on days 8-13, I will do 4 of those shakes a day, no solid food, then Clear liquids only in Day 14- the day before surgery.

I'm on Day 6. I 'm glad its getting a little better. Days 3 and 4 were the worst,

Did they give you a Cal count? As long as you stay under that I would say yes. Two of those is only 220 Cal's.

No cal count, nothing but a pre op paper with food choices and how many servings I could have. I can have unlimited broth, sf Jello and Popsicles, crystal light or any 0calorie drinks, coffee or tea. And 1-2 servings of Protein shakes, half cups of skim milk-1serv, cottage cheese(yuck!), soy milk, light yogurt 1/8ozserv... So I'm lost really. Just concerned about the shakes.

Thanks so much for replying :)

Sorry two premier shakes have 320 cals, stupid phone. Anyway. Based on calories its seems like if you would rather substitue a yogurt for another shake you could probably do that. However cottage cheese or yogurt are giving you certain nutrients etc. Post op I choose low fat cottage cheese with either pinapple or herbs added.

I would love to substitute. Hopefully my dr gets back to me. She's usually really good about it.

Cottage cheese I may can handle post op but with the fruit. For some reason it's not good to me. I haven't eaten much broth because it's just nasty and makes me wanna hurl.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
