Lap-Band Revision June 2012

Good morning. I had my original band surgery done Nov. 5th, of 2008. In the last 6 months or so my band has slipped and now I am scheduled to go in and have it repositioned and revised. I have my notes regarding all my post op surgery food do's and don'ts but can't find my information about prepping for my surgery. Last time I did liquids for 2 days prior. If anyone has any suggestions or helpful hints about what they ate (broth, Jello, sugar free pops I remember) I would appreciate the feedback. Thank you and best of luck to all those being banded, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

I know some people just do it, get past it, whatever.....I am not that person! LOL And best of luck to you!!

julie, I am a huge fan of the unjury brand protein powder as well. I use the chocolate splendor with a little ice (tastes like thick chocolate milk), or a scoop of the vanilla mixed with 1 c trop 50 orange juice and frozen strawberries and 1/2 c ice (though brandi's idea of milk and strawberries sounds yummy too!!). I use an immersion blender to mix it up really well, because one of the things i hated was the grittiness. If you go to unjury.com you can buy the sample pack- 2 envelopes each of chocolate splendor, vanilla, strawberry, unflavored and chicken broth (tastes like Lipton, imo). You do have to be careful about heating protein- if you go over 130 degrees it will clump- but not sure about the protein in carnation instant breakfast. I love carnation instant breakfast, but it doesn't have a lot of protein compared.....

I love the unjury chicken broth, mixes great and tastes great! Its 20grams of protein.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice/helps/opinions about this subject. It sure does make it easier when you have others who have been there/done (or tried) that! LOL Again I appreciate it, thanks so much!!

If you live near a gnc, thy will let you taste. I like the total lean and lean muscle meal, not a fan of unjury, but everyone is different. Good luck to you.
