would you believe ive tried to get it here in australia and cant get it in my state?? grr... at the moment im ''bidding for a bottle of it'' on eBay... have you ever heard of anything so rediculous in all your life? ive complained in the chemist shops here that the good old remedies are being taken off the shelves and the more expensive drugs that make more money for the drug cartels are replacing it. We always had milk of magnesia in our house when i was growing up.

Wow really? Bidding in mom. It's sad that that's true!

I had this the frist time i drank too fast the dr made me go back to crystal light one sip every min till it clear he also side to drink from a dixie cup or get a special cup that you can only take one sip from at a time. He said that some time you get infamtion on the point and to just make sure you take it slow. I was baded on 3/24 I just got home from the hospital yesterday.

I was banded on April 9th and returned to work on the 18th. I found that I had to have my drinks only slightly cooler than room temperature to avoid some discomfort. I am nearly 3 weeks out of surgery and I am still not drinking "ice cold" drinks; although I am mixing my Protein Shakes with crushed ice again.

My appetite came back about a week after surgery. This week I'm feeling a little hungrier. I go for my first fill/adjustment on May 10th. I am on pureed foods until Monday and then I gradually progress back to regular foods. As for the bathroom, I am guessing I need to get back to a more typical diet before things get back to normal.

I credit light exercise (i.e. walking, Walk Away the Pounds DVD, and/or WII Fit exercises) for helping me feel better so quickly.

I, too, was banded on April 23rd. I am just now beginning to know the difference between surgery pain and hunger pains. I think it's perfectly fine to feel hunger pains at this point. How could we not? We haven't really eaten anything in 5 days. The only thing I would worry about is a lot of sharp pain. I am also getting some pain when I take too big of a drink. But if it lasts more than a second or two, I just stand up and try to "walk it down". I also sometimes pat my upper chest and try to "burp" myself and that seems to help. I am going to see how I do today without Lortab and stick with just Ibuprofen (which is so nasty - what happened to bubblegum flavor??). I showered today and am working on walking more and getting my Water in. I need to make sure I am peeing more often. Still no BM but I'm not surprised. I haven't eaten anything to make a BM!

I am definitely feeling better than I did on day two, which is when I thought "what the hell have I done?". I feel more like myself and have more energy. I ate a Jello cup last night and experienced my first feeling on being full! It was very weird. Hang in there! I've been told the worst is over.

Why were you in the hospital so long?

I was also banded on 4/23 - was discharged from the hospital a day later. I've been lucky in the sense that I've had no nausea and no vomitting but the pain!!! I'm not sure whether it's just gas or the sorness. I can definitely feel my port and it hurts around that area - my friends think I'm crazy because it shouldn't be that way (as they know no one else who has done it who had the same experience)

Before I was released, they gave me some cream of wheat and some tuna to eat so I guess I'm not on the all clear liquid died :) so that's been nice but I have not been eating that much, an ounce of yogurt here, an ounce of tuna there .... it does hurt if I eat too fast - the gas in the chest, even when I sip liquids it takes a while to burp and it hurts :(

I saw a few people say that a heating pad would help with gas - is that true for others?

Glad to know I'm not alone in this ....

Whats weird about the burping ive noticed is that i can burp easier if i lean forward. Im still having someone pat my back a few times a day to help with the residual gas trapped inside thought. I have been chewing small ice chips like sonic ice. thats definitely helping me get my Water in.

ew to the forum, and banded monday. just wondering how other newbies are doing, and how everyone is adjusting. i had no fill at the time of surgery & was in a lot of pain up until today. i'm so proud of myself for not taking any pain/ nausea medicine today. however i am feeling hungry, which my surgeon said i probably shouldn't feel. anyone else feel this way?

also, about 10 minutes after i drink something, i get a sharp pain in my chest, and it's hard to breathe. is this a stuck feeling? or just that i drank too much?

look forward to talking with you all!

This is the same thing i am feeling i tried to explain it I was banded on 3.34 they all called me nuts and told me i was crazy and i did my self in well all but Dr Jones he was my surgeon. The other in the team told me i was nuts then i got direeia form the suger free high Protein Jello for this reson i find it very hard to drink the right amount because of the sharp chest stuck feeling i was told it post op swelling and that to poor a shot glass and drink that slowly every 15 min i still very thirsty but it i take it slow and take small sips i am okay. he said in 3 days the swelling should be down from it and i should be fine

first thing i did was chug a Protein shake and up it went and had to move back to Clear Liquids. Then there was the problem were my bladder fell asleep and i could not pee for the life of me they did not know what to do with me so they keeped me i begged to go till they were able to get a urologist in . I am also having alot of problems with post op swelling i get this pain when i sip too fast so i tend to drink very very slowly as i feel stuck. I almost landed back there today as i ate some sugar free Jello and it went though me and i almost landed back i am back on stage two as he wants me off Protein for 3 days till the swelling is down some he said the feeling of sharp pain is just that i am very sowllen and could take a few week to get better so i might land up starting stage 4 ( soft food slower)

I've been taking liquid morphine, and I've noticed that it is very hard to pee for a few hours after I take it. And it makes me itchy everywhere. What are you taking for pain?

Also, don't chug anything. Slow and small sips for everything.

I agree that when you bend over or put a pillow under you - butping becomes easier but not always. Im amazed how so many were able to stop pain meds already - I try to hold out but by the time the pain level goes up to 6 out of 10, I give in ....

I don't know if my band was filled slightly but I do feel a restriction and thankfully am not hungry but the bloating! I have no idea what to wear because I look more pregnant now than before I starts this hahaha any suggestions?

I have just been taking liquid tylenol for the pain since Wed morning. I am considering wearing a binder on my tummy when i go back to work as my incisions only hurt when i walk and my belly jiggles :( i used to suck it in pretty good when i walked lol but cant do that for the time being.

I can soooo relate to this!! I feel better this morning but still when I walk and the belly jiggled it really hurts, I'm considering my sister's maternity pants lol and you're right, sucking in isn't happening!

Does the area around your port hurt more? It does for me - it feels really sensitive and sometimes when clothes touch it it's irritating it more :(

On top of it, I woke up with the sniffles today :( sneezing and blowing my nose are a nightmare!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
