10Cc Band Vs 14Cc Band

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me the difference of the two. Is it just different manufactures, and is one better or work better? it seems that the majorjty of people on here have the 10cc band.

Very curious. I have a 14cc and it's taking me a while to get to my green zone. I wonder if my band is too large for my stomach?

The main reason they fit larger bands is to do with the size of your stomach, although sometimes it is just a doctors preference, there is no difference between the 2 bands working other than capacity and the overall length of the band, i have a 14 cc band and was told the reasons why i had this size fitted, ask your doctor if u are curious. I am at 7.5 cc fill now and get good restriction the same as others who have a 10cc band .. u dont mention how much fill you have..

i have the 10cc and my husband has the 14cc...both by the same company...doc says it was due to the size of our stomachs...hubby's was larger...

Well that there does make sense. I guess that was why I was given a 14 cc band. I just got my 7th fill yesterday. I'm at 11ccs now. I dont know how it feels yet cuz I'm on liquid til Sunday. But I think I'm now very tightly filled. Which is what I need. I'm pretty sure with yesterday's fill that I'm now in green zone territory.

My dr put the 14cc band in for me. He chose it because a. The size of my stomach and the fat layer around it and b. he feels like it is more "flexible" for fills- less likely to go from no restriction at one fill to overly tight at the next. My understanding from reading is that the 14cc has an advantage if you do slip- they are more likely not to need surgery to correct it- just unwilling it gives you enough room to self correct, apparently. I am not a dr though. :)

weight at start of pre surgery diet - 304/current weight 293/surgery scheduled for April 10!

I have a 14cc band. My doctor told me that it is just a size issue. Some people's esophagus is a little larger than others. Hey one question where do you get the weight loss tickers?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
