You are supposed to do liquid for a day or two and then mushies for another day.

Really is this after every fill because he fail to tell me that

Yes, because you let the stomach calm down the first few days and then you start with mushies and go up to see what you can eat.

I had my first fill today too....3.5cc. Boy, what a change!! I'm glad though! Mr doctor told me soft foods for a day and a half...soups, puddings, yogurts, mashed potatoes, etc. It's crazy how different doctors are. I just had some egg drop soup for dinner. Too afraid to try anything else. Is it normal to fill this tight initially after a fill and then it loosens up? This is crazy tight. Bring on the weight loss!!

Thanks for shedding the light on this for me because I didn't know, next time I will have a list questions ready. Because he didnt explain why once I starting drinking the water he was out the door

That's terrible!

My doctor spent as much time with me (the first visit) as I wanted, and as long as I had questions. Never having been banded, I really didn't know what all to ask. I was sent home with a ton a paperwork and I scoured it for all the info I could get. It was in that paperwork that it was listed that after a fill you're on liquids for a day and a half. It's impossible for your doctor to tell you every single detail; hopefully they give you paperwork and handouts to make up for the the doctor fails to tell you.

Make sure you wait around his office for a few minutes to make sure you can get the water down without a problem. Don't leave if you think you can't swallow it. Then yes, one day liquid, one day mushies, and take it easy trying solids since some may give you some problems.

Thanks guys I was unprepared but next time I will be more prepare I guess I was a little scared of what was about to happen then to know what's will happen after the fill and what to do. I'm glad I got it over with so I now know what to expect the second fill.

The first is the worst since you don't know what to expect! I had read horror stories about not being able to find the port, etc. but mine (and every one since) was so simple; hurt less than a flu shot!

Do fills hurt?

Actually it didn't hurt at all they numb you 1st, it's feel like when your getting your blood drawn. I was amazed how fast and painless it was. I worked myself up for nothing. And trust me I don't like needles it was cool.

Thank you for telling me that. Now I'm a little less nervous for my first fill :-)
