I had my 3 week check up today and everything is going great. I did have a scare from straining to use the restroom and was having pain in my port site. But doc said all is good. From my last visit I'm down 16 lbs and 13 since my surgery on May 11th. I go back in 3 weeks where we will talk about a fill. Oh and I have the okay to start on my next phase......yipppeeeee. Tammy

That's awesome! Great job Tammy! Glad everything is ok with your port!

I'm surprised neither of you got a fill' date=' but if you are losing without it, that's great. I really hope my doctor gives me one so I won't get hungry as often.

Well as I posted in May Blooming Bandsters I spent 6 hrs in hospital yesterday due to severe Constipation and bowel obstruction. One of the most painful and worst things I have gone through. I have had lots of Water, and Miralax today. Just waiting for the rest of it to pass.. Wish it wasn't so painful.

I haven't been eating but I know I probably should :/ all I feel like is liquids right now[/quote']

Yea I was really thinking he would, but nope...I was prepared for it...Im glad I didn't jus so I can enjoy my bday wknd a lil better and not just b on liquids.

Lawd girl that's just horrible!! I could not even imagine! So sorry you are going thru that!

I go to the Doctors tomorrow for my 4 week check I have had a cold for the last 2 weeks and My port is really sore....I got stuck for the first time today drinking Water :( Hoping everything is ok. Starting to feel hungry between meals which I haven't had to deal with yet so I have been lucky my doctor won't fill until 6 weeks post op so have to stay strong and watch my food intake VS excercise output. I am down 25lbs since I started the journey.

Hi everyone - got banded yesterday. The pain is a little worse than I thought especially on my right side where the port is. The pain meds just seem to knock the edge off. Liquids seem to be going down fine and I actually do feel hungry! Tomorrow I start "full" liquids, and the list of foods says I can have strained Soups so I'm pretty excited about that!

Hey all haven't posted in a while but I'm doing great since being banded may7th. Haven't lost or gained any weight and don't feel any restriction so I know I'm in what they call "bandster hell." I'm surprised to see ppl posting about trying to get fills so early, I was told you couldn't get a fill until you start solid foods? well anyway next week I start solids, hopefully soon after I will get a fill. I feel like I'm not progressing but it's still soon. Glad to see all the new bandsters are doing well.

Just curious...

I read on a few posts that people had no problems sleeping on their side/stomach or use pillow while sleeping in these positions. Has anyone tried sleeping on their side but feels like an abdomen muscle is being pulled (from the weight of your stomach)?

I was banded last Friday and I would love to be back on my side and stomach again, but I don't want to do anything that might cause problems...

dont even remember going back to the surgery room. After my first shot to relax me I was gone, ( I am a wimp)

Sorry about the gas, it still hurts a little in my arm after a week but it is way better. Husband gave good back massage it helped.. Or maybe it just took my mind somewhere else. :)

It took me about 2 weeks to sleep on my side... I would try all the time, but I would always feel a pain... Now I can finally sleep comfortably on my side... Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I was banded.... You have so much to look forward to!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
