Hello All,

I had my procedures this morning, May 14th. Banded Plication, Gallbladder removal, and hernia repair...doing very well. My surgery lasted about 90 minutes. I am actually surprised I feel so well...expected it to be much, much worse. Only some discomfort..minor gas issues. I am on liquid Lortab and Phenergen for pain and nausea.

Good luck and best wishes to all !

Nita

Hope that you get to feeling well fast. Ill keep you and everyone else in my prayers!!

Day two for me..feeling a little more sore. I think that is to be expected. My gas issues are not bad at all. I am expected to wear these compression hose until this evening..and I can take a shower. No wound care necessary.

The surgery center put all my instructions, etc. in the lap band box. To my surprise, and with no warning..there were laproscopic photos of my surgery there too..eek.

Hi everyone, My name is Kathy and I'm a newbie to this site but just received word this a.m. (5/15/12) that my surgery is scheduled for May 22. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I'm so ready. My cousin had lapband done a year ago in April so she has been a big help to me but would really appreciate words of encouragement and support through this from some others and will offer the same especially since we all have the same goals for weight loss.

Congrats, Kathy !

I just had surgery yesterday. It went like a breeze. I had banded plication, hernia repair, and gall bladder removal. My pain and gas is only a little bit uncomfortable. I am taking phenergen and lortab elixir for it.

I have to say my surgery center and doc were marvelous. I was most stressed out about the IV, since I am very hard to stick. They gave me a little numbing shot before going in...much ado about nothing.

My whole procedure was so much better than I expected..and I feel so much better than expected. Take lots of little walks thru the house.

Nita

Glad your surgery went better than expected Nita and you are doing good. I know when I had my gall bladder removed last year that walking around and moving really helped with that so I plan on doing the same with this surgery. I'm a little hard to stick too, my veins are small and want to roll so it gets a little tricky catching one but they always seem to manage although sometimes I look like a human pin cushion. Its just something I have gotten used to.

Day 7 post op and feeling good. I am only scared to have too much yogurt and Soup. I'm having a hard time telling when I am full or not.

Hopped out of bed this morning too quick and thought I had popped a stitch inside. Hurt soo bad for a few minutes.

Hope everyone who is getting banded today has a successful surgery!

Welcome, Kathy. :)

8 days post op and now on full liquids. Wondering if I can have broccoli and cheddar soup from panera bread? Anyone know

I don't think you can have it at the full liquid stage, because it has those chunks of broccoli in it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
