Can You See The Port?

Hello. My sister and I are thinking about getting banded. She was told that you can see the port under the skin. Is this true? Is it really noticeable that the port is under your skin?

I can't see mine but I can certainly feel it. I've lost almost 100 pounds and now it feels more prominent.

You cant actually see the port but, sometimes when I lay down it stands out a little bit

some people can see theirs, esp when they get to normal weight- you could elect to have the port repositioned if this is the case. They do make low profile ports as well.

You couldn't see or really feel mine when I weighed 250 - but 100 lbs later, I can definitely see and feel it, especially when I lie down. It looks like an alien coming out of the side of my tummy. It's definitely prominent now. It actually hurts once in a while - like the soreness after a fill. Hope that helps a little.

Mine is very visible. At a bmi of 20 its like a walnut under my skin. It doesnt really bother me, however im in hospital right now after a tummy tuck and its been replaced with a low profile one, i cant see anything yet as its all bandaged up.
