Committment Thread to lose weight

Here is my committment to myself. Anyone wanna join me?

I will follow my Nutrisystem meal plans.

I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week.

I will lose at least 1 lb a week.

I will drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day.

I cannot continue to eat unhealthy and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to not exercise and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to buy pills, buy exercise equip, etc then not use them and expect to lose weight.

I cannot continue to feel sorry for myself because I do not have the band anymore.

There is that good enough for you? I am talking to my excess weight demon. Yeah you - you good for nothing bad seed.

To quote the almighty, "Get thee behind me, (excess weight demon)!"

I've been making decent dietary choices and I've also been doing okay on water.

I've not been exercising at all once again. My prime #1 failure in this entire program. I feel deep down tired and I know this is from lack of activity.

I am not sure how to force myself to exercise. I know the approach should be as simple as "Just do it" (thanks Nike).

I will try and spend time on "the black mile" this evening.

Yeah I hear ya. Exercise has been my HUGE downfall with regards to jump starting my loss. It is just so darn hard to get up and get motivated in the AM. I won't exercise unless I do it early in the AM. I am talking like 7a. If I get up later than that I won't exercise.

Maybe I need a mindset change and just do the exercise when I feel the need to. Not put a time frame on it. SIGH!!

Why oh WHY does it have to be so hard to LOSE weight?

We had a lot of years practice at not losing weight. We're good at that I'm sad to say.

Okay, I think I might try the morning thing. I've considered it but I've never tried it.

Tomorrow AM I set the clock for 7 and my first action of the day will be to walk on the 'mill.

Shudder.

Look at my post a couple clicks down. You see where I made three committments (IN GREEN). Then in Black you see my daily committments. You chose your own and check in as often as you can with updates.

Hey Paul I have heard that you should exercise and eat within the first hour of getting outta bed. Our bodies have been fasting all night long and need to be refueled quickly. Makes sense to me. 8 Hours of fasting or more I would be hungry for sure. Also drink water at least 8 oz upon rising as we are mildly dehydrated as well. At least that is what I have heard. I do keep a bottle of water at bedside and if I get up to use the bathroom I take several swigs.

ah thank you penni!!

The day is almost over but for today I will do another hour on the heavy bag.

My diet today was:

Breakfast 10am: half a cup of strawberries, 4oz of cottage cheese

Snack 12pm: 4oz of boiled plain chicken breast, shredded

Lunch 2pm: 4oz of boiled plain chicken breast, shredded

Snack 4pm: 8oz glass of milk

Dinner 6pm: 3oz of mahi mahi filet, baked 1/2 mixed vegetables

Dessert 8pm: 50 cal fudge pop from schwans

Hey Amy go bite a big one. That is all healthy stuff. That isn't fair you aren't playing right. :biggrin1:

LOL

I am really trying this 6 meal a day thing. nothing in between each meal other than water. Each meal is 2 hours apart. and you can only have 6. each meal is 100 to 150 cals each. if you eat it slow you are almost on top of the next meal by the time you are done. i feel like i am eating all damn day!! And I gotta tell you my metabolism has skyrocketed since I started it.

My big commitments: (which I am going to put in my sig)

To eat my 6 meals a day

To work out in the morning and evening at least an hour

To walk the dog on longer walks more

these are the things i really want to strive for. I have the water down pat. Almost a gallon a day.

I have heard that eating 6 meals a day will increase your metabolism. I have to tell you though if I told myself I was gonna eat every two hours I would fail miserably. LOL!! I would think it was OK to eat JUNK. LOL!!

I gotta do something though. Might just give it a go.

Here is my food intake thus far today:

Breakfast: A can of tuna and a banana

Lunch: H. Choice General Tso Spicy Chicken

Dinner: H. Choice Chicken / Red Pepper / Alfredo thingy.

Supper: Unknown, possibly a can of tuna.

That puts me at between 800 and 1100 calories per day, but I get around 60 - 80g of protein.

Oh both of you can go fly a kite. I haven't counted calories or gram of Protein in ages. I hate doing that stuff. But you know when I was doing it on a regular basis I was losing.

Shoot I hate it when I make sense. Guess it is back to counting for me.

Well today is shot.
