Drinking Water when I'm starving helps me. I promise myself if I drink a full 8 oz then I can have something to eat but after drinking, I don't want anything

Unfortunatly this is the worse part. A girl at my work had this surgery a year before me and was a great weatlh of knowledge. One of the things she did tell me was it was going to be reallllly hard right after the surgery due to your stomach is still normal and wants food. I found that drinking thick things like v8, surgar free puding's helped. And I too got soooo friggen sick of Protein Shakes I couldnt stomach them for a long timel

Good luck, you can do it, it will be worth it I promise

You're in bandster hell and it could last a while. I'm now 4 months out and I'm still hungry much of the time. I've had 4 fills and I think it's starting to work but I can still eat too much. X fingers that fill #5 does the trick.

Bandster Hell is the time between surgery and when your fill(s) cause enough restriction that you feel full quicker and longer. I'm almost there now. I've heard some people never experience BH and others who have to have many fills before the band performs the way we were told it would. Once you can begin eating solid foods consume Protein as that satiates much more than liquid or pureed does.

its hard i know.. im the same. i sort of feel hungry (is it hunger??) all the time, even after ive eaten. well, we arent full so i guess we are hungry. lol. could you try having more than a 1/2 cup soup?? and taking a lot longer over eating it?? im learning to put my spoon down after each sip and counting to at least 20. its torture, lol, but i think it will help instill in me some good eating habits. How long is it since you were banded??

i feel for you having cupboards filled with food for the children. That must be horrible. Im so lucky i dont have a sweet tooth.. i appreciate the fact that i dont have one. my weakness is savoury foods plus meats. i hope you can work something out.. its sucks being hungry. it literally is band hell.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
