Hey Twin well here's how it went for me.... Dr requires me to bring a bottle of Water. Then he rub something on tummy and all I felt was a little pinch and it was over in 2 sec well it seemed like 2 sec then it was off to get an xray. After that you have to drink the water to make sure it goes down ok. then you done. Nothing to worry about your going to do great and I think it will def give you the restrictions your wanting. He said I can come back in like 3-4weeks.

Congratulations !!

I didn't have a lot of gas pain.

I did have left shoulder pain and I found a heating pad REALLY helped. It also helped with the little bit of gas pain that I did have.

Take it one day a time.

This is great site for information to ask questions.

I live in Canada and I've made some great phone bandster buddies. I call 3 friends every month and we chat on the phone... I have free long distance.

For me support from other bandsters has been a key to my success.

I also host a coffee group for people that are banded or looking into the procedure.

If you have any question please feel free to ask or you can also e-mail me tomander@bell.net

Hey Twin the scale has been behaving pretty good haven't lost that much weight but I haven't gained any either. But thats about to change I was cleared for exercise so I need to kick this weight off. I need to get in2 kick boxing or something I have alot of aggression due to my baby daddy lol. He's such a jerk. I dnt really talk to him becuz he's mean. So I using his words as motivation so it has been working for me. He wnt b able to call me fat names anymore. So since my pre-op on 3-20 I have lost 23 lbs and counting.

How have you been doing? What are your fav foods to eat? I find myself eating real food once a day and then rest is Snacks or portein shakes. I think im just scared. Maybe I should see my dietician?

Well, kickboxing should do it!!! Lol! Sorry to hear u're dealing with a jerk. But u will be victorious n leave him in the dust!!! Can't wait till u're at ur goal weight so he can eat his words!!!

My issue now is that the gym I was going to unexpectedly closed on EVERYBODY. No warning. No nothing. -___- So...now to find a new one. N I hate the gym atmosphere as it is. I used to be a dancer n that is why more the type of workout I like to do. I was hoping to find at least a Zumba class to mix it in with the gym n ease the boredom. Also, thinking about being a treadclimber. Anyone have any input on those machines???? It's pretty expensive. I want to make sure it's not a waste.

The past two weeks were pretty difficult. Mostly cuz the scale didn't budge. It was suchhhh a bummer. I really don't have specific foods in eating. I get bored eating the same things over n over. So I'm just trying to make healthy choices thoroughout. I do loveee sugar-free 'chocolate twirl' pudding when I'm craving something chocolately! I like tuna fish a whole lot. N am still trying to eat grilled chicken when I can cuz I am a HUGE carnivore. U're so impressive, Nicole, with ur own 'real' meal a day! That's really good!!! Should definitely show results!

So I had my first fill today. No TOO bad. Unfortunately, the nurse didn't numb the area, like I hear others have had. The area is actually still a little sore. I was little headed for a whole afterwards. Assuming it was cuz of the fill or

maybe because I was hungry--which I really really was!!! Thanks for the advice guys! It did help to know what to anticipate. He said I have a 10cc band placed. N he added 3ccs. He didn't want to do the typical 4ccs b/c I told him how I already felt pretty restricted n am actually surprised to hear its been empty this whole time. I already have issues of intense esophagus pain when I don't chew enough or eat too quickly. Hope this doesn't make it worse now that I've been filled.

Anywhoo! Hope every one is having a great evening!

We got this!!!!

Wow... your doing great.

I've had no issues with lettuce.

The only foods I have to avoid are rice and apple skins. All other foods in moderation are fine... including Pasta go down fine.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
