Banded On March 23Rd!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on March 23rd everything went good dr even removed my gall bladder due to it being inflamed. Im still really sore and having to rely on my meds like clock work. Im living off of sugar freen Jello and ice chips and pure Protein vanilla shakes. Sometimes im not feeling hungry at all but other times my stomach is growling and im so hungry thats when i drink a shake. Im wondering if it's going to take me a little longer to recover since he removed the gall bladder. Gas hasn't been a big big issue but whenever I feel discomfort I chew some gas x. But im still having trouble getting in and out of bed and sleeping on my back not a happy camper about that. I tried sleeping on my side it just was more uncomfortable for me. But Im walking alot and having no problem doing it. Im going to attempt to take a real shower tonight so I hope i don't get anything to wet. Missing food like crazy though. Hope everyone else is doing well. Oh yeah 16lbs lost so far. Operation get skinny and healthy in full effect!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I don't think the gall bladder being removed should extend your recovery. Having my gall badder out was a super simple procedure. Just a tiny bit of soreness for a couple of days from the laproscopic incisions. Just keep moving and you should recover quickly! Good luck!

I was banded yesterday as well!!! I'm actually feeling pretty well! But I do have problems with the gas. It comes n goes but when it does attack its pretty hurtful. Got gas-x as well. Hope it starts kicking in. I actually slept on my stomach last night. That's the only way I can actually fall asleep. In the hospital I slept on my side but that was because of the fatigue and the anesthesia's help. Glad everything has gone so great for you! Congrats and we are now officially band twins! Lol :D

Yeah, I'm not even attempting bending down! I have everyone picking things up for me! Lol N sitting is uncomfortable but I have to alternate from laying to sitting. Cuz the laying causes a lot of gas irritation. I walked to the pharmacy b/4 n it actually did help! Gotta try to do it a few more times throughout the day tomorrow. I'm actually not top hungry. My stomach is growling like crazy tho!!! I'm just trying to pretend this not eating stuff is normal still got 8 more days of the liquid diet n don't want to torture myself with the idea of food. =\ I use the Pure Protein shakes also. The strawberry one is awesome. Makes me feel like its a real shake when it's nice n cold! Lol

Well, KIT Twin!!!

Well I was planning on going back to work on Tuesday but now im not so sure. Im still relying on my pain meds and taking stuff slow. Im going to try cream of wheat (soupy) tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Today i started to get dizzy if i stood for to long i would get lightheaded. Im just assuming that it's because Im hungry so I will have some ice chips and lay down. Hoping tomorrow will be better for me.

I made a mistake on my last post I was banded on the 19th ...so I'm a few days ahead of you . your gas will pass : ). it's great that you were doing good if you're walking this early ....I was not able to walk down the street until today . it's just been up and down the hallway and in the backyard . but today was a really good day for me ! even got out to the store for 2 hours and bought a dress ! it was my first time driving too since surgery day.

I also was thinking of going back to work on Tuesday. For the moment it seems the gas is starting to alleviate. Hopefully that's the case. I'm really starting to get hungry now. I just ask for night to come so I can sleep n get my mind off of it. Besides that I haven't had problems when I've gone for my walks. I haven't pushed it past 15 mins at a time, but I feel the need to go for one or else I feel like I'm literally inflated if I stay sitting for too long. Hope everyone else's issues are starting to ease!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
