Brand New To The Site

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to this, but my surgery date is April 13. I've been reading posts for a while now and finally decided to join in. I'm VERY excited about my band, but scared at te same time. Your stories are all so helpful!

Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You have so much to look forward to. I have not regretted my decision for one single moment! Try not to be nervous, it's all good!

Hello and welcome. Don't stress, you will do great. Everyone's recovery is a little different but the good news is that everyone makes it through. Follow doctors orders and you will not regret your decision. I am 4 weeks post op and am learning more and more about my new way of life everyday. No regrets here!

I am new here also ( just found this app today) and my surgery date is Also April 13th. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there... My surgery date is 4/9 and this is my last weekend of eating real food for a while.. I start my 12 days of optifast on Monday. I am so excited.. I work with someone who has lost 100 pounds with the band and she is so supportive.... Good luck to all..

I am brand new to this site. My husband who is also new here, got banded on 4/9. We are doing awesome and have recovered very quickly. Good luck.

Good luck to all of you. I regretted getting the lap band for about 2 days after surgery. I was in so much pain. If you are driving a long way to surgery center ask you Dr to give you Rx for pain med prior to surgery day. That way you can have it with you to take as soon as you need it. I got my script as I was leaving the center and had over an hour drive, by the time I got to our home town pharmacy and got it filled and it took effect I was in bad shape.

Other than that remeber your riding the "Chew Chew Chew Train now" It is a big part of it. That makes you automatically eat slower, which is also important.

So, I am very happy I did this. I'm 75 lbs down as of today. Banded in Sept.

Magician / Jessca... I too was banded on April 13th... Can you share your loss progress and tips on food and exercise??

Hello!

I am new to the site, as well. I'm scheduled to get banded on May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend). It was only a month ago that I went to a seminar and had some tests done. It's more surreal to me now that I already have a date scheduled. Can't wait!

Hello and welcome. I have also just recently joined the "Bandwagon". My date of surgery is May 7th and I cannot be any happier to get there.
