Hi Everyone!

Just thought that I would stop by and introduce myself.

I've been banded for over 2 years and at goal for about 15 months.

Who else is in this forum?

Hi there... I'm 2 days post op, so far so good... I lost 8 lbs on pre op diet, but I'm up 2 lbs today, probably from all of the IV fluids... I'm on Clear Liquids for week 1, then full liquids week 2... Hoping to treat myself to a new wardrobe for my 33rd birthday in September !

Its great to see the successes and you are definitely one of those. For the many bandsters having a tough time, or who haven't really made the changes needed or who are just about to start on their journey, with the doubts and fears of surgery it's great to have another finished article for them to aspire to.

Good to have you here.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

@LadyBug: I think the most important thing that I did for myself to be successful was to find my accountability. For me, that is my weekly weigh-ins that I post on Fridays on my blogs.

My favorite brand of Protein shake is powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. Available only online. It's medical quality Protein. I sometimes wonder and question the quality of the protein of the shakes I see at costco or Walmart. Unjury is also the best tasting in my opinion. I tried ALL the shakes when I was pre-op and Unjury was my fave.

Oh good! That's what I just bought sample pkgs of...Unjury. I'm not a chocolate lover so I got the strawberry, vanilla and unflavored, along with their chix Soup. I haven't tasted them yet, I need to as I start my preop on the 5th. Thanks so much for the info and congras on a great job!!

Love love Unjury. The chicken Soup was a lifesaver during preop and now during post op. I mix a little of the chk soup with Tomato bisque and it's great. The unflavored is great to add to stuff as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
