Too Little Weight Loss?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So I am 7 months post op and have lost a total of 54 lbs. I work out with a trainer 3 times a week, in the gym two other days that week and am satisfied with my eating. Meaning that I think I am about in my green zone. I only eat three small meals a day and the hunger is mostly gone!

I just feel that at 7months post op I would have had more weight loss. I am thrilled with losing 54 lbs and have never lost this much weight before but I seriously thought the weight would come off faster. I feel liked I have worked off every pound at the gym and using my lap band to control my portion sizes.

What do you all think? I am just being bitter? It just seems like all these people are posting that they lost 80-90+ lbs in six months and that is just not panning out for me.

Thanks for your help/advice.

I know how you feel I am seven months post op also I have a total loss of 56lbs also and I am very cross with myself that it is not coming off quicker. I don't know what to do so will meet the nurse in march for my third fill and see what happens.

7 months is approx. 28 weeks. 54 lbs dived by 28 = 1.92 lbs per week, aprox. THAT IS NOT BAD!

Everyone is different. I am 1.5 years out and only down 32. So, you make me envious! cool.png You are doing great; you have lost weight that won't ever come back! And if you're continuously losing, then why complain? It's working!

I am really glad with my loss just me being selfish wanting it to happen quicker. I know it took years to put all that weight on and it will take a long time to loose it. So will just keep going the way I am going it.

Lap Band's literature says we can only expect 1-2 pounds per week. This is a restrictive only procedure. It is NOT a rapid weight loss procedure. An average of 1.9 lbs per week is fantastic.

During my weight loss phase I lost 0.75 per week on average. And it was not steady. I'd go up and down, but it was mostly down. Sometimes I'd stay the same for a few weeks.

Being banded is about creating habits that will stay with you for life.

Its been said a million times, I know, but remember that we didn't gain the weight over night (nor in 6 months, in most cases!), so we cant be expected to lose it that fast. Some people on here have lost at rates that just seem INSANE, and its easy to get envious, but you sound like youre doing great so please keep up the good work and be proud of your increasingly awesome body!

As long as the scale is moving in the right direction the band is doing its job. Remember to work your band and it will work for you!!! Just think where you will be

6 months from now! Have faith and work hard on the new you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
