A Week Late For My Period Post Surgery And Not Pregnant...suggestions?

Hello all...my lap band surgery was january 11th and I was due for my period this past sunday January 29th. It hasn't come, and I have no symptoms. Im also not pregnant...should I not worry just because of the strain surgery had on my body and my hormones being off? Thanks for the input!

I have always been irregular but once my band was in place, I was like clock work. That was until I got pregnant. I had my band placed in June of 2011 and I'm now over 6 months pregnant. Yeah, didn't take long. I call her my Lap-Band baby, lol. After the months of research before speaking to a doctor and months waiting for surgery I did not hear anything about the band affecting hormones. It was my check up appointment when I mentioned it to my surgeon who indeed confirmed that Yes, the band can affect hormones.

Ok these comments are all helpful...one more thing I'm wondering....technically I should start a new birth control pack tonight. My obgyn said to wait til I got my period then start the new pack. But I haven't started. Should I begin the pack anyways?? I'm thinking when I reach the sugar pills in 4 weeks hopefully that will trigger it to come, if it doesn't before then.

weird i was going to start a post like this

i was banded on aug and despite a very slow weight loss ( only 20 pounds so far)

my period has been very weird ... a week or so late and alot a cramps saddly no sex

so it's not that

I have told a few of my many docs and they all say the same thing

it could be a combination of things...surgery, weight loss, meds , and you are now 47

Ha! I feel like we should start an abnormal menstruation post lapband support group.

Good news!! It finally arrived thank god! Lol but let me tell you its so awful the pain I'm in is not even funny!

LMAO @ Char1020. ME TOO!! I just came to post I am leaving the club. I am so pissed. I want my midol and/or ibuprofen, but I can't!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to us! At least this explains the lack of loss for the past 2 days!

I wish I had been late, I got it right on time 3 days post op:(. Though luckily the pain meds stopped the bad cramps I usually get on day one in their tracks. Only reason I took the meds that day.

Maybe its an act of god and your the new age virgin Mary. That's what I told my Dr the other day when he asked if I could be preg. But more on topic, my period has always be regular with or without the band.
