Hey where are all of the flint bandsters? I had lapband surgery on Oct 3 2007. Would love to hear from anyone else from the Flint and surrounding areas. Dr Wagoner did my surgery.

Sue, first thing I did was arrange for a place to meet. We meet at our church. I put a notice in the paper and we went from there. We have had 4 meetings so far and the group is growing. Hope you have the same success!! The first meetings are just getting to know each other and telling our stories. Later, we hope to bring in speakers.

Hope everyone is doing well & congrats to you new Bandsters!!

Hi everyone from Michigan!! I have not been on the Lapband board for months. What happened to the tickerfactory where I can update my #.s???? Teachlady I have met on the board. What a nice person. I am looking either for a group meeting or to start one in this area of Bay City, and Midland. Anyone know of one??? I was banded on April of 07, I lost about 57 pounds quickly, then it had been 5 months that I had had a fill, and I got one this week. I had only gained back a few pounds. They cant seem to find a fill that fits me, either it is not enouf or too much. I seem to have been on quite a stall for a while, hopefully now it will pick up although with this fill I am still quite hungry. Glad to have this board and all of yous!!

I'm from Fenton just north of you. I go to the Hurley Bariatric center for my fills. I had band surgery Oct 3 2007 at Hurley in Flint. keep in touch

hey close, how are doing? Glad to hear you are a Flint bandster. Do we have anyone else from Flint?

I'm stalled, I have my 2nd fill Feb. 11. Tryin to hang in there till then...

Yes, I did have the surgery in Flint at Hurley like some of yous. I really wish there were a place for the fills closer to me in Auburn, but they say because of liablility they have to do the fills where I had the surgery.

I've only lost 27lbs since surgery (June 21, 2007), but it's completely my fault, I've not yet had a fill.

I had one scheduled with Christy (Hurley) but had to cancel it and it's a challenge for me to schedule another with my work schedule.

I do feel "soft stops" and get feelings of being "satisfied" but I continue to eat through them. I'm working on it, though. I was back up to 308 and have gotten back down to 301, so I'm hoping I can stay on track.

Hey there, I am a Hurley bandster as well. :)

Wow! you look just fabulous!!! What a great inspiration you are!! I do remember talking with you before. I just had a 3rd fill last week, and I just cant seem to get into the losing grouve I was into before. Any helpful ideas? It all started with that darn pumpking pie at Thanksgiving time!!! I found out though that like I said before, when I get a fill, it is always too much, and then I cant eat anything except to drench all food in either sour cream, ranch dressing, (light of course), or mayo, and eat a LOT of low sugar ice cream, and because of all that my cholesterol, and blood pressure are sky high! If I dont drench this stuff, nothing goes down, except soups. YUK!!

And if they give me just a touch less fill, I am hungry all the time. Any helpful info from you would be great!! I do exercise a LOT!! and walk every day. I am missing something. What do you eat???? YOu look like a movie star, is that really a picture of you??

Ok, first I have to laugh. Yes, that is REALLY me! :rolleyes2: Thank you!

Second, we need to step away from the sour cream, ranch, mayo and all of those things that are helping you cheat! Sorry to call you out sweetie, that is what it sounds like! If you are too tight you will tend to go for the things that are more fattening because they will go down easier! What are you REALLY eating? If you don't want to tell everyone feel free to PM. I will be more than happy to help. You can get back into the swing of things, but if really are too tight you are hurting yourself more than good. If you can only eat stuff drenched, you may be too tight and just trying to get by! That is not good at all.

I really eat whatever I want, but I monitor myself not to WANT junk. I eat alot of chicken. Love it. Roast beef, soups. I can eat whatever I want now, but I make good choices. It is about retraining your brain and your body about what is good for you. I have gotten a bit extreme about it now, I cringe at the thought of junk food!

PM me, I can help!
