sstasevich: wow, you've lost 125lbs in just over four months??? Holy crow, that's amazing!!! What's your secret, I just gotta know!

I hope the Michigan forum picks up some more. I have a consultation with Dr. Obeid at Hurley in Flint scheduled for 3/27.

I was banded on 10/31/06. I started losing weight on my own in 10/05.

So sorry if that's what you thought, but I have taken of 150lbs since 10/05. That's not to bad. Shirley..

That is a HUGE accomplishment! Good for you! :(

Thanks kitty! I appreciate that. Shirley..

Heck, that's AWESOME!!! I was just reading your signature that gave your high/current/goal and your surgery date.

150lbs in 16 or so months is absolutely fantastic!!! Goodonya!

What am I saying??? Losing any weight is WONDERFUL and an amazing accomplishment to be celebrated (with a sugar free popsicle, of course!).

I hope to be there someday.

faithmd: trust me, you will. it all comes in time, and about 1200 callories a day tops "I prefer 1000" helps make a huge difference. that's it. Iwas a 5x when i started, i am now a large. still have a long way to go, but i am determened to get there. i'll bet you are to. Shirley..

Shirley, I *am* determined this time. I can't live this big any longer. It isn't so much about my health (because I have been pretty blessed with fairly good health despite my weight, even my cardiac caths-done for another reason-came back clean as a whistle), as it is about the fact that I have no energy and can't do what I want to. I want to go tubing down the river we have a house on (Muskegon) without being deathly afraid I can't get back in if I dump the tube. I want to be able to walk and not have to stop frequently for breaks, I want to be able to get into an airplane seat and buckle without an extender, without making the guy next to me cringe because I'm fat, and to be able to put down the tray without a problem. I want to dive again without having to put on tons of weights. I also want to make sure that I stay pretty healthy.

Thank you for the words of encouragement!

faithmd: First of all, your'e of on the right foot! Your sick and tired of being fat, "so am I!!!" and you wanna do something about it. In other words, like they say "YOU CAN TAKE THE DOG OUT OF THE FIGHT,,,BUT,

YOU CAN'T TAKE THE FIGHT OUT OF THE DOG!!!" That takes guts. I like

that fighting spirit, it's what makes us push for more., but,,, set your goals realisticly. Like maybe this year you might do some walking, and tubeing may have to waite for next year. Now i'm not hear to bust your bubble, i'm a realist. So next year whean you have dropped some weight

and you are in better shape to go tubeing, you will enjoy it more. For now go out on the boat and enjoy it, or the water and enjoy it. I no i sink like a rock, so,, my advice would be,, were a p.f.d..!!!

What about protien drinks! Did you invest in a good one? If not get back to me on this and I will clue you in big time!! Besides,, protien helps curb your appetite. We can all youse some of that. Good Luck! Keep in touch,

and we will talk again. Shirley...:)

Miscle Milk Light!!! get it on ebay, it's the cheepest. You can call a GNC and get a price but trust me you will go back to ebay. 195 in cal., and 25g of protien to mix a 10 oz shake. "powder only" I like cookies n creme, strawberry milkshake, and a few more. O yeagh they are delicious, and made with water. There is also Muscle Milk it's just higher in calories, that's up to you. Shirley....

Good Morning Bandsters of Michigan!!!: Have I got good news......

Any one out there have hap ins.? It now covers the surgical band procedure, and fills "or adjustments" I thought I was going to end up paying for my fills, but,,, as of 11/01/06 they announced for the new year they will cover the band.. I just got my referal the other day, and I only have to pay the co-pay for a office visit. Specialist is $30.00 I can live with that.

If you have hap or no of someone with hap and would love to have this done. "NO GUIDE LINES AT ALL!" They have to contact Henry Ford Hospital Bariatrics center. "because they are a center of excellence hospital" So that's were hap will send you. That's were I go and they are great to me. Pass it on. Shirley...

That's good to no.But that's up to hap! It may very well be possible to go there. Someone would need to find out from hap.

Hello I am from Michigan-westland and I went to Oakwood to get my lapband and since Feb. 13th I have lost 38 pounds and I have not gottena fill yet but now I think I may need one.

any one who needt to chat just let me know.

Hi there Sue..

Welcome to the board. I'm going to be banded April 10th. I have my psych eval. tomorrow and that is the last of the hoops to jump through for the insurance. I can't wait to have the surgery behind me and start my new life.

We'll be traveling to Port Huron, about 4 hours away, to have the surgery done.

Judy
