CoachBuckley: Thanks for the info! My friend had Dr. Deol do her band and she had a really good experience as well.

Josette and Boo Boo Kitty: I'm so glad your surgeries went well!

:) I'm near Midland...anyone go to a support group around here?

Also...boo boo kitty, I was feeling pain too about the 6th or 7th day out, which was weird because I felt so good before that! I found out it was because I had backed off my pain meds too fast and was feeling the effects of all the jostling that went on in there!! I started back twice a day on the liquid meds and now at a little over two weeks I feel fine. All the steri strips are off and feeling like myself. Only much better because I'm lighter on my feet!! :clap2: Good luck with your pain.

Hi all! Just went to an informational seminar with Dr. Deol at Troy Beaumont. If there were any doubts left in my mind, they are totally gone! I am definitely ready to do this. On to the insurance battle... wish me luck!

Hey there Juno! I was at the seminar also, didn't have an opportunity to say hey! I could tell who you were (the well informed one!) But, where was I sitting????

I too am 100% ready to go forward, I already have my appointment made!

I am sooo ready!!

Cathy: Ok, I give up -- where were you sitting? ;) Were you at the table in front of me? I had so many wierd surgical questions to ask, but I realized that some were just for my own medical-mind curiosity and not so much for my surgery fears. I figured I wouldn't bore everyone ;)

I am getting so excited to get started. And I'm relieved because my husband is now totally on board. He was a little wierd about it at first. Keep me posted on how everything is going!

Maria

I was on the opposite side of the room from you,at the front table, I was the one closer to the wall. I had pretty much decided I was gonna go thru with it before the seminar, now, I just want to get the process over, and start shedding some poundage!

I'll be watching to see how it's going for you!

I was banded at MMPC of Grand Rapids by Dr. Kemmeter. Loved the staff-at the office and the hospital. Are you looking for a dr., Josette?

I would highly recommend them, depending on your location.

Hey guys,

I remember someone I think in this thread mentioned the Lansing support groups. I need more information on those. Anyone know about them?

Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
