  1. I was having a very similar experience. several weeks after being banded, but I don't believe it was related at all, I had vertigo, not the lightheadedness like I was gonna faint, but the room would spin terribly if I looked up, bent over, or layed down. I went to the doc after several days of it, and I had fluid in one ear and terrible sinus. I was told to take claritin, sudafed, and he perscribed a seroid nasal spray. Still took three weeks to go away, and it was a miserable three weeks! I was sleeping in my recliner because I couldn't lay down, and was waking up from a sound sleep to the room spinning! Still like everyone said, see your doc to be sure!
  2. Thanks for the info, will definately check that out!
  3. Hey WorkingMom~I was banded the same day as you, and I also hit the 30 lb. mark today!! I must admit, I've had a stomache bug the last two days, which took off the last 2 lbs! But I'll take it!! Congrats to you!!
  4. I was banded in Feb, and had my first fill last week~4.5cc in 10cc band. It was a piece of cake!! hmm, that sounds yummy! Really, it was nothing to get worked up about!! Good luck!!
  5. I have the same insurance, and I had to do the six month 'diet' Had no problems getting everything covered. Good luck to you!
  6. I had my surgery exactly one month before you in Madison Heights at St. John Oakland. Glad to hear everything went fine, mine was as uneventful, just as I was hoping for! I am down 22 pounds so far, including the week of pre-op diet. One thing that was helpful, was that each day was better that the previous, so hang in there!!
  7. Wish I could sleep on my stomach too! I can lay on my right side but not my left yet. I had some diahhrea 'issues' yesterday, but none today. Hope it is just temporary for you!! Tomorrow I get to go on full liquids!!! Yipee!!!!
  8. Sounds like I am right on track with the rest of you! No appetite at all! Forcing myself to get jello/broth/water in thru the day. Pain is not bad (as long as I don't move!) Definetaly getting better every day!! Hubby has been great about taking care of me and feeding himself and my teenage son, I don't even want to THINK about food yet, although the commercials are starting to look good! The liquid pain meds and the liquid tylenol both were not going down for me~so now I am taking the tylenol jr. chewables. the others were too thick and sweet~just couldn't do it! Also the chewable gas-x seems to be better for me than the strips, wasn't crazy about them! Glad to hear we are all right on track!!!
  9. I'm home too. I hurt, I feel sick, I am super tired. Hope tomorrow is a better day! But all went well!
  10. I got my surgery time, not till 12:30~was sure hoping for earlier, I'm gonna be starving!!!!! I will be thinking of you all going earlier!
  11. At my pre-op visit, I was told that I would have one, and that it did help in the hospital and some people also used it once they get home.
  12. I can't believe it is only a couple of days away! I had my pre-op visit on Monday, and all went well. I was shocked to see I had only gained one and a half pounds since I was there last in November, after the two big holidays and my eating everything in sight, I had truely expected more!!! I felt like if I could have unhinged my jaws to shove more in, I would have!!! They gave me the two day liquid diet for the weekend, and for this week the 'liver shrinking' diet. Has not been too bad, but has only been two days!! It will be so worth it in the end. I was gonna take my 'before' pics yesterday, but decided to wait till today, because I am getting my hair cut and she fixes my hair so much better than I do! So, I will do that today and at least have nice hair!!!! I am usually hiding from the camera, but not this time, knowing I will NEVER look like I do ever again!!! Does anyone know their surgery time yet?? I have to wait till Friday for the surgery dept. to call me, hoping it will be nice and early!!!
  13. I know what you mean about the soda, but mine has been the coffee!! I have been mixing 1/2 decaf to try to ween down, hoping to avoid those caffeine headache! Doesn't taste near as good, so has been easier to not have as much! One week left to go!!!
  14. only 8 more days!! I go tomorrow for my pre-op visit at the doc's then over to the hospital for an ekg, chest xray, blood draw and I don't know what else! They told me at the beginning that my doc only required 2 days liquid diet before, I hope they haven't changed their mind! I am having such a hard time with the 'last supper syndrome' I feel like I have to 'get it out of my system' I know I'll do alright once banded. Dinner tonight?? Red Lobster!!!
  15. Count me in~I'm a 12ther too! I'm in Michigan, and hoping to loose 80-100 lbs. Look forward to comparing notes!!
