I didn't have foot pain before, but my shoes are a lot looser. Some are kinda flopping off my feet.

Yes they do.

I have gone down a size in shoes, in doing so I guess I lost some natural padding.

Plus I workout like crazy so I have increased the workload on my feet.

I am always looking for good cushioned socks, and good insoles for my sneakers.

However, I see a podiatrist every 3 months, and EVERYTHING about my feet are 100% healthy.

I would also guess circulation in my lowers has improved also.

B-52, Thanks for your comment. I see you have been banded one year now. Can you recap your year for me? Any regrets? Any advice for those of us looking to be banded in 2012?

Part of why i got banded ws chronic bursitis in my right heel, i had a cortisone shot and the bursar drained, got anded, lost 17 kgs within the three months the cortisone ws expected to provide relief for and never ever hada problem again.

My feet definitely changed. My feet used to swell badly on a daily basis. They do not swell at all anymore and they actually look kind of boney....lol. They would also hurt everytime I got up, especially if I sat very long, and now, they don't bother me at all :) It's the little things :)

I did'nt neccesary have foot pain. My knee is another matter. I was getting knee injections to deal with horrible pain (could hardly walk anywhere). I can now walk 3 miles with no problem. I have the worst flounder feet. 130 pounds lost and my feet are still as wide as ever!

My feet have gotten a lot smaller (size 8-8.5 shoe to size 7-7.5), and the plantar's fascitis that used to plague me is a distant memory.

I am 48 and yes my feet went down a size. I never had bad foot pain but my knees and back had bad arthritic pain. MY knees are 100% perfect now and my back only bothers if I do crazy stuff.

So funny i have plantar facitis my podiatrist kept saying its because of my FLAT feet an the fact that i work in a hospital on my feet for long hours. But true my feet never hurt like this until i got SO heavy. I hope this will go away with the weight to :)

ABSOLUTELY!! My feet went down 1/2 a size, and my heels no longer crack in winter! My feet also don't kill if I walk around all day, and I can wear high heels again!! Thank you for this post -- it's a good reminder of just how much better my "dogs" feel without 80 extra pounds on them! Another wonderful thing to look forward to about being banded, like....

fitting on a plane comfortably, even in the middle seat...

being able to wrap a normal sized towel around yourself ...

shopping in any store ...

not feeling bad about your weight...

and so much more.

You have so much to look forward to! The foot thing is wonderful, but it's the tip of the (wonderful) iceberg!

Best wishes,

Catherine

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
