Hi, Everyone! I'm New To The Lap Band Forums And Recently Banded :-)

Recommended Posts

My name is Michelle. I am 32 years old. I decided to get the lapband after so many health problems. Not only do I have PCOS which makes it hard to lose weight and easier to gain it, but I also have high blood pressure, cholesterol and back issues. I felt like I could not do it on my own. I want to get healthy and happy for myself and my 2 boys.

Hi Michelle. Happy to have you onboard. I have lost 100 lbs an dam healthier and happier than before. You can do it, if you make the commitment to yourself. It is not a diet, but a new way of life and eating. It is a tool to guiding you; and in my case, stavs of the diet boredom. I usually stopped dieting after 20-40 lbs, and never made goal. Finally, I found something to help me do that! Good luck! Karen

Thank you Karen! smile.png Thats what my hopes for this are as well. Even if I lost weight on diets, I just gained it all back once the diet stopped and often times gained even more. My Niece had the band done over a year ago and has done awesome! I am using her as my inspiration.

That's great! Good luck with your surgery and success afterwards! I am only 3 days post op. I was banded on Dec. 20th. First few days are rough, but I'm sure it gets better :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
