  5. Glad to hear that you were able to recover your ring. I need to have mine resized as well.
  6. Same as above, it will be all god in 4-7 days, everybody is differs
  7. It's usually gas build up from the surgery. Walking helps get rid of it. Hope this helps
  8. Thank you guys, but I'm sure the weight loss is going to slow down a bit. I get to start going to the gym again, so maybe that will help.
  9. Went to the Doctor today, no fill. He wants to wait another 3 weeks and see how my weight loss is progressing. Time will tell, I guess.
  10. KINDA OF A STUPID QUESTION - I'm seeing my surgeon for the first time on Friday and how does he know if I need a fill. I have lost 58 lbs since my 10 day pre surgery diet that started on 12/19/11. I definitely have restriction by the very small portions that I eat. I'm not hungry between meals. I've had a few close calls on "getting stuck" but it hasn't been a problem as long as I slow down and chew properly. Any advice or experiences will be greatly appreciated. Thx
  11. As a former football player and former power lifter, I have always been a large man. It never affected my health until age 35 when I developed high blood pressure. Everything else health wise was always good. Then about 2 months ago, my pcp had to put me on another pill for blood pressure and told me that I was very lucky so far, but the weight was starting to take over. He told me that "I WAS GOING TO DIE A YOUNG MAN" if I didn't change something very soon. He had suggested lap band in the past, but he was pushing it as save your life kind of thing at that point. I had lost 80 lbs a couple of years ago on Atkins, but I couldn't do Atkins forever and had gained it all back plus 15lbs. I scheduled my surgery, insurance denied it (GHP doesn't cover weight loss), and made the choice to go ahead with it. My doctor was trying to scare me and it worked. I'm on my way.

  16. I don't know for sure, but I think you can place all the negative bandsters into this old wise saying. The definition to insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome each time. Just my 2 cents
  17. Posted 7 minutes ago I was banded on 12/29. It's been fairly easy other than the gas, that took about 4 days to get rid of. A little discomfort at the port site at times. I'm down 41 lbs including the 10 day liquid stage prior to surgery. I started the mushy stage today, I am soooooo tired of liquids. Good luck! Correction 44 lbs.
