Concerned About Frequent Bms Of Loose Or Soft Stools Along With Diarrah Like Cramping After Lap Band Surgery

I was banded 11/4/11 and have lost 19 lbs. I am doing well, but for the last week and a half I have had very frequent cramping and feel the need to eliminate. Is there anyone who has had or is having this kind of problem. I am awaiting results from my doctor on some tests to see if I have an infection in my intestines.

Perhaps you are lactose intolerant? Try eliminating milk, dairy products and whey protein powder for a few days and see if that helps.

I had that a few times shortly after my surgery when I started incorporating more solid foods. I used to say it was like the instant stomach flu... I would shake and sweat and feel like I might throw up at the same time I was sitting on the toilet. It has not happened since about 4-5weeks after my surgery. Good luck hope you feel better!

Hello - This happened to me, I actually posted somthing on here but did not get too many responses. I too went to the Dr.s and they had me give a stool sample. They tested for infections and all kinds of things. I was very disappointed when they all came back negative. I had this for about a week and a half as well. I stopped the dairy to see if it was that. No go, it was not that. I lived on saltein crackers for over a week and water to keep hydrated. It was crazy. The day or two before Thanksgiving it all stopped. I was so careful but it was a great dinner and I was fine. I have been fine ever since. I had my first fill last Wednesday so a week ago tomorrow, it went great and I feel great. I hope this works out for you, I am sure it will. Good luck and I am sure your test results will be fine.
