Had my pre op appointment today. It went well. I didn't realize that they were going to be doing all they did. I thought maybe some lab work, ultra sound and xray. Ended up being that and more. Ultra sound, X-ray, Upper GI, EKG, Respiratory test, blood gas test, and Blood work. It went pretty well. I am getting excited and can't wait get started with my new journey. Not looking forward to this liquid diet but, I will do whatever it takes to get healthy.

Two more days and I have my surgery. The 2 week liquid diet hasn't been bad at all. The first week the weight came off fast but then slowed down this week. I've lost about 12 lbs. so far on this liquid diet. I've lost quite a bit of weight since starting this journey and people ask me why go through with the surgery since I'm doing it on my own. I tell them it's keeping it off that's the problem! Anyway, I wish everyone a speedy recovery!

Happy to hear everyone is having an easy time with the pre-op diet! I start mine next Thursday. I'm anxious to find out what is involved with the diet. Won't find out until my 10 day diet appt.

Good luck to all of the December 2011 bandsters!!

I am a December 2010 Bandster and remember exactly what you are all going through. I just popped into your thread to wish you all the best and a successful weight loss journey.

The band has helped me to lose over 100 pounds. Its not always easy but well worth it.

Well, in less than 24 hours I will be in surgery!! I am so excited and not at all nervous. I am so ready both physically and mentally.

As I planned out my food for today, I decided to add in a couple more of the things I am allowed during this pre-op phase but that I haven't had. I've found with the Protein powder that I haven't been hungry at all and really didn't feel the need for many of the extras (oatmeal, applesauce, cream soups) but today I am going to treat myself a little bit. Who would have every thought that a bowl of oatmeal would be seen as a treat!! My, how the perspective changes! - lol

There are so many things I want to complete today (work for school that I brought home, cleaning the house, cooking a few meals ahead for my husband and mom, laundry, and on and on). You'd think I was going to be incapacitated for weeks!! But my mom has been staying with us for the past week and is needing a lot of help. She is having sciatica issues and is on some heavy duty pain meds. My poor husband will have two loopy patients to take care of for a couple of days :-) so I want to take as much burden off him as possible.

I know there are several other people scheduled this week for surgery so I want to wish everyone well! I'll be looking forward to hearing of everyone's progress.

Hi all. I am new here. I got the call last Monday that I got approved and my surgery is this Tuesday! I simply cannot believe how fast it happened. I'm ready for the post surgery. I am just nervous about the actual surgery. I have never had any surgery for any reason so I worry about anesthesia. Other than that I am excited.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
