Banded 09/19...still very lightheaded

I was banded on the morning of Friday, September 19. I have not had any hunger at all. Today is my first full day without any pain meds and although I am a little sore, I am moving around on my own. I have had to force myself to drink liquids, but I am pretty sure that I am staying hydrated (no dry mouth, using the restroom regularly, etc...). But, I have an overwhelming feeling of being lightheaded. Today, I have had about 6 oz of cream of mushroom Soup and 12 oz of Protein shake in total. I am going to try to get at least another 12 oz of Protein Shake down.

Anyone else have this issue during the days following the procedure? Could it be the pain meds working their way out? Not enough liquid? Not enough protein? It's a very odd feeling...almost like my head is floating away from my body.

probaly a combination of everything. it takes a little bit to get the anestetic out of your system. your body is adjusting, keep on drinking fluids, try popcicles, and keep drinking protein shakes. it does get better.

I experienced this also. I thought was getting enough fluids, but I wasn't. Once I got fluid taken out of my band (I was too tight), I was able to get more fluids and felt better. Also, moving to full fluids helped tremendously. Do you normally take blood pressure medicine? If so, you'll want to monitor it. If your pressure is too low, that can cause you to feel lightheaded also.

hello just was banded on the 15th . i also had been feeling the same way . evrery day gets better. remember its like your fasting your body is fasting all part of withdrawl and shock to the body of going into burning fat mode . drink protein drinks the muscle milk is great . also jello feels like your eating. walk or clean around the house. Make sure your taking vitamins and calcium for muscle loss because wedo lose these due to shortage in foods. Its all an adjustment make sure you eat.
