Brand new today- how are you getting enough calories?

I was banded on August 16th and I am having trouble getting more than 300 calories a day. Does anyone have any hints for me on how to get more? I'm starting to feel a bit punky from not having enough anything in my system. Today, I have started on full liquids so that should help. Does anyone have any good recipes, hints, tips or tricks for this phase?

You should talk to your NUT about this. Everyone's recovery is different, and the first six weeks post-op are about healing, not about weight loss. If you're only getting 300 calories a day you need to evaluate what you're doing, and raise the level. But even with that, Protein is more important than calories. Contact your NUT and ask for help - that's why they're there.

Good luck!

Dave

My favorite recipe right now is homemade potato soup with unflavored protein powder mixed in. Im on the mushy phase so I don't blend the soup but for you, you could blend the soup or add more milk. Very yummy
