I have been overweight since I got married and had my first child a year and a half later.  As I have gotten heavier, I have been dianosed with high blood pressure, and while pregnant with my second child diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  I was pre-diabetic for a few years, and three years ago was officially diagnosed as having Diabetes Type 2.  This has been a constant struggle, I have tried numerous diets, hypnosis and exercise plans to no avail.
A friend of mine had the lap band surgery 4 years ago and has had great success, and my sister had a gastric bypass two years ago.  I have been talking to them, researching the different surgeries online and trying to go through the insurance fiasco to get my surgery covered.  They wouldn't cover it, even with my other health issues so I took the money out of my 401 and paid for it myself.
I had surgery 6 days ago, on August 16th.  Overall, I am doing pretty well, but am having trouble with the clear liquids and feeling punky due to not getting protein in.  I am looking forward to full liquids and being able to have my protein drinks among other more "food" type stuff.
I heard about this website on youtube of all places and thought I would check it out. I could use any extra support right now.
I am so happy I made this decision. I want to be around for my kids; to be able to go to the zoo, the park, take walks with them.  I am tired of being sick and tired and wanted to make a decision to save my life.
