So I'm on my 7 day pre-op diet (day 6) and over the nearly 6 days I've had 2 tbsp of Peanut Butter tha tI wasn't allowed to have, one egg white, and 2 bites of a (little) Totino's pizza. IN SIX DAYS. I know it was naughty, but I confessed to someone (who doesn't struggle with weight and knows nothing about the lap band), and she is totally reaming me as if I'm going to die on the operating table. I shouldn't be paranoid, should I? I'm down 7 lbs in 6 days and feel like I can do ANYTHING in the world after the will power it has taken to stick to this horrible liquid diet.< /p>

Relax. The pre-op liquid diet is used by some surgeon's to try to shrink the size of your liver, which will make the band surgery a little easier to perform. In the bigger picture, your "cheats" are a non-issue. I had one DAY of pre-op liquid diet, and I did just fine during surgery.

Post-op, cheating is more of an issue. but for now, don't worrry about it. and don't confess anything to anyone. This is none of their business, and you don't need anyone stressing you out right now. :)

Good luck!

Dave

I was much worse this weekend so don't sweat it Iam not sure why some doctors require 2 weeks or 1 week of pre op diet some only ask for 24 hours others want 3 or 4 days they all have different ideas of what is needed Iam on a 2 week pre op and I stuck to it like glue all week but on sunday we had a going away party for my niece who is off to college and I went and I had 1 braut on a bun with mustard and some shrimp salsa and chips and yes I felt guilty and Iam back on it to the letter today but Iam not sharing that with anybody but the people here who have been there and done that and know where Iam coming from and I think your going to be fine also.

I totally agree with all of the above....don't sweat it. I cheated a little to (in fact I drank alcohol both Saturdays before the surgery and was told none was allowed) we're not expected to be 100% perfect. You're doing great!!

Don't listen to anyone who has not weight problems or has never struggled with any weight issues. They have no clue what you are going through. I cheated on my pre-op and let me tell you, it was a huge cheat :)

i went to a bbq for easter 4 days before and i pigged out. LOL! and guess what? i was just fine with my surgery. I lost 6 lbs anyways!

Everyone is going to cheat at one time or another during this journey.

I would dust yourself off and move on. Please note however AFTER surgery no cheating. No matter how tiny. Your stomach will be recovering from serious trauma. I recommend you watch a real surgery on youtube not at all gross, no blood. You will see why you MUST follow doctors orders.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
