Welcome newbies! (Cause you know, you joined today instead of the oldtimers that joined....um....yesterday)

Ms. Lady, me too. Never been so happy to fart in my life! It feels sooooooo goooooooooood.

Maryjo that concoction sounds gross, lol. I put nectar Protein powder in crystal light and it tastes like regular juice. Or the vanilla or choc powders in milk.

CherieElise I totally read that as 80lbs, LMAO, I was like WTF!?

Well I am back down to my pre-op weight so I must've peed out all the extra fluids. Yay for that. I am 4 days out though and I am HUNGRY today. It kind of sucks! I want to chew and gum isn't doing it! I get to have thicker liquids today but still liquids. So I had a coffee/protein/milk drink for Breakfast. A cup o Soup (pretty damn good!), a nectar/crystal light Protein Drink for lunch. Then a popscicle. Then a pudding. Now for dinner, a cup o Soup, some V8, and I'm about to have a popscicle. Later on i'll have a milk/protein drink. And I have 10 more days of this before pureed foods! Then a week of pureed, then a week of dices/mushies. UGH! And no fill until 6 weeks. I start school thursday (orientation) and then monday full time m-thurs and I don't know how i'm going to get through the days on liquid.

And I swear I look pregnant. Like for real. I hope it goes down before school on thursday, I don't want to have to unbutton my pants, lol.

Hi my name is Brandi, I'm 37 years young and have been married to my wonderful husband Gary for almost 15 year, on September 21! We have 3 wonderful kids..our oldest boy, Keegan-12, our daughter, Camdyn-10, and our youngest boy, Hayden-7, the main reason I'm taking this journey! I want to be around for them for a very long time!

My starting weight was 191--I'm only 4ft 11in, not a lot of room to keep the fat hidden..ha ha!! I was banded on the 9th and I went to the dr today and was down 8lbs!!!! My daughter was so excited for me. Since I was doing so good my dr let me move onto pureed/mushie food today! So tonight I got to eat some supper w/ the family, mac & cheese and pear. I had a cup of mac & cheese and coupld of pear slices and I was stuffed!

I'm glad to be on this wonderful, life changing journey with all of you!!!

Brandi

brandi- don't you have to go on a 2-3 week liquid diet after banding? How can you eat mac n cheese? The band is healing.

I don't think the "band" has to heal. The band is just rubber or whatever. I think if the stomach is done with it's swelling and irritable-ness then you can move on.

The dr told me since I was hungry that was a sign of my stomach healing..the swelling has went down. That's why I can move onto the mushee stage and mac & cheese is on the list. Anything u can smush w/ a fork!

Hello Caryn,

My name is Agnes. I am 44 years old. I was banded Aug 11 as well. I started my journey out weighing 253. I lost a lot preparing for the surgery. This morning I am weighing in at 222. I too have had horrible gas pains. I feel better today than I have felt since the surgery. I am very excited about starting this journey. When I signed on and saw your post this morning, I was pretty excited. It is great to talk to people who are going through the same thing I am and had their surgery around the same time. I live in Emporia, Va. I am married and have a daughter who will be 17 in September. She is a senior in high school this year. I am excited about losing this weight so that we can do all of the things that I have only dreamed about with her before she goes to college (horseback riding, roller coasters, trip to New York, skydiving, etc) The list goes on and on. Great talking to you!! Keep up the good work!

Good morning A11s!

I slept in my bed last night! Woot! It wasn't the greatest but I made it work. I can't lay on my left side because the incision hurts and it feels "hard" around it. I eased some of the steri strips off of it so I could look at it and make sure it wasn't infected looking. It looks okay but that one is the most painful. The one right next to my belly button is wicked nasty and bruised looking, but doesn't hurt much. I guess it's good that i'm feeling more incision pain then gas pain although it's still there a little bit. I'm down 3lbs this morning, so into the 220s! (229!), which is awesome. Haven't been there since Jan when I started working nights. I can't WAIT to get OUT of the 220s because it's been a really long time since i've been there. I've fluctuated between 225-235 for like 4 years now.

Flamingjun, looks like we have about the same amount of weight to lose! My goal is 150! Which is still overweight for my frame but the thought of 122 scares the crap outta me. I've NEVER been there because i'm very stocky and have a lot of muscle from riding horses and working in physically demanding job.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
