Had first fill on wed, was starving when I left the doctors office but stuck to the liquid diet. They put only 1cc in my band...now I am still getting hungry and I feel no restrictions at all.. I feel like this month is going to be a failure in my weight loss. Why so little, I thought the idea is to restrict my intake, but if he is only doing 1cc at a time, its going to be forever before I feel the restriction and see weight loss again. I am beginning to think its a money game. Having to keep returning for little increments to find the green zone..I can understand maybe 2cc for first fill and building it up in small increments..So far I have been good at restricting my meals, eating small meals with my main meal at lunchtime so I can work it off...but I dont know how long that will last before my tummy goes into overdrive for food. Especially with Labor day around the corner,,,BBQQQQQQ..omg how can I control myself with no limits?

Ann

Trust me I was there. I was fortunate that my np was giving me descent fills because I was having no restriction and going back every 2 weeks. It took me 7 visits to have it right. Now at -30 I feel great restriction and am focused on changing my life. Do they not evaluate and ask about restriction when you go in.?

That's unfortunate... bandster hell (the period between when swelling subsides after the operation and before the first fill) is hard enough without such small fills. My first fill was 3 cc's at three months after surgery. It's a good subject for a poll: when was your first fill and for how many cc's was your band inflated? Would it be possible to get a fill from another source?

I feel your pain!!! I was banded in June 2011 and so far only 1 fill!! I had 1 cc fill in July to bring my total to 3.4 cc. I go back this week and hoping that gets me closer to being in the green zone!! It has been 100% work and effort and will power on my part these last 2 months; weighing my food, counting calories and Protein, and stopping when my pre-measured or pre-weighed food is gone....it's been HARD!!!

I didn't expect the weight to fall off overnight but losing 1 pound per week, if that much, seems too little!! I guess I was expecting more. Lost 14 pre-op and 12 since, but ugh! I'm ready for more!!!!

Hang in there and it will happen soon!! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
