I want 4-5cc at once. will anyones Dr. do that for them?

I had my band unfilled. I am in the process of having fills again. does anybody have a doctor that will just fill it? I know I get restriction at 9.5-10cc. My office only gives .5cc-1cc at a time. Its expensive and time consuming. Just curious to know if anyone gets 3-4 cc fills at once. I live near buffalo NY and can travel to get it done if its a reasonable distance from me. Thanks

My doctor asks me how much I want and then puts that amount in. Sometimes he tries to change my mind but, ultimately his theory is that I know my body better than he does. Not real far from Buffalo if you cut through Canada. He's in Port Huron, MI. Don't know if he takes other patients but you can try. The number is 810-989-3328. Ext. 2 will get you to the nurse. She can tell you.

My doctor will not do more than 1 cc at a time. I think that is pretty standard.

1.5 at the most.

Remember - your body will change after being unfilled. Your Dr. may be willing to do more if you do it under fluorscopy with a barium swallow so they can see how the fluid moves as they add more.

My doc did 5.5cc the first fill and then another 2cc on my second fill but he always does a barium swallow with my fills to make sure everything is ok. I'm in California though so i know that doesn't help you but i thought you should know its possible and there is probably a doc that can help you.

thanks for the answers, We will see what his thoughts are on thursday.

NYdad..... this is just my personal opinion, but, not a good idea to get all that at once. I go on the chat site and for the most part people who have had huge fills at once... normally have to get an Unfill not long after.

Filling the band slowly so your stomach, body and mind have time to adjust. I'm almost two years out and i too at firs wanted to hurry up and be thin, but my dr. explained to me that if i want the best results in the long run.... it's better to go at it slow......You want to be the tortoise and NOT the hare..

banded 11/10/09..... start weight 223, height 5'2".............now 146.......14cc band with 10.9 cc in it..... but it took 7 fills to get to that.

Best of luck.....

Not sure when you wrote this, but wanted to say that my Dr. Did a 4cc fill the first fill then a 3cc fill second fill. I've not needed more fills. It wasn't an issue because I could tolerate that much. I live in California, but wanted you to know Dr did those amounts for me.

P. S. I've lost 65 pounds and feel like I might need a fill next Dr. Visit. I've been doing well and want to keep at it. Banded Feb 7, 2011. Dr has me drink a glass of water. So far all is great.

My dr did 4cc on the first fill and I believe 3ccs on the second.
