  1. Do any of you know of a doctor who would be willing to do lap band surgery on a vet for free? I have a friend who lives in Cedar Hill who needs the surgery. He is a pastor with no insurance, and VA will not cover the surgery. Anyone have any idea where he can go to get some help?
  2. I was told that once I had lap band surgery I could no longer drink pop, or any carbonated drink. I am almost 1 year post op, and have not drank any, however, I've seen some protein shake recipes that call for Diet Coke. Do you guys drink pop? Will it hurt anything if I do? The ONLY thing I actually miss since my surgery is Diet Mt. Dew!!!
  3. Nikki, my doctor has told me that my weight loss amount has been perfect. He does not want me losing it fast. Over the course of the last year I have averaged about 1 pound a week, and that's where he wants to keep it. He told me a slower rate is healthier, safer, and will give my skin time to adjust. He also will not give me more than 1cc at a time. I'm happy with my weight loss. It does seem to be coming off a LOT faster since my last adjustment though...lol Thanks for the replies folks. I will quit worrying about not having an appetite and just enjoy it...lol
  4. This was fill #5, and I believe I am at 6 cc, but I am not positive. Fill #4 was too tight and he ended up taking 0.5 cc out the next day. That was 2 months ago. This last fill, 3 weeks ago, he put that half cc back in and although I am tolerating it this time, I have no appetite whatsoever.
  5. My doctor will not do more than 1 cc at a time. I think that is pretty standard.
  6. I am almost 1 year post lap band surgery (Aug. 26, 2010). My doctor gives me a fill every 2 months. I had a fill 3 weeks ago and have had absolutely no appetite since. I am having to force myself to eat. I've lost 41 pounds total, and 9 of those have been in the last 3 weeks. Is this normal?
