Kind of cool how it worked out. My mom's insurance covered hers and the date ended up being yesterday. She is 73 and was discharged the same day. Mine is self pay and done 4 hours from home and will be tomorrow. Different docs, different diets, different bands (hers-realize, mine-lap), same week. It will be good to get through this process with each other's support.

Thanks y'all. We are both doing it to stick around as long as possible for my 4 year old son (single dad). I really want my mom to get to see him grow up. My last living grandparent died when I was 10 (26 years before my son was born).

My mom and I were a day apart also. She went the day before me! Everything is going to be great! The healing process is the part but even that is nothing. You will enjoy the support from your mother as she will you. I've been banded for 4 weeks and we are both doing great! Good luck to you both!
