Surgery Aug 12,2019
Hi CPGirl, my surgery was July 25 and I've lost 49. Yes it does slow down a lot. But I make sure I'm getting in my protein, vitamins and liquids because there are some days I eat well and days I just don't feel like eating. My doctor told me my body is in preservation mode but to keep getting in high protein, no/low carbs, no fruit and lots of water, the weight will keep dropping.

Nervous
AJ is right, don't over think it. I'm 4 months out and only experienced dumping twice and it was because I was off my game and ate something wrong. I'm back to eating right and I'm good. Its very tempting to try new things or old things that we used to eat but If you stick to eating the right things, you'll be good.

Burping
I have to say that the burping is much better. I'm 4 months out and I don't burp nearly as much as I did when I originally posted this. So there is hope the relief will come.

Dumping Syndrome
No. But I just remembered a couple of days ago I ate a piece of left over halloween candy. A mini 100 grand bar. That must be it.

Dumping Syndrome
OMG I'm 4 months out since my surgery and within the last 2 weeks I've experienced this twice. NOT a pleasant experience. I'm not sure what I ate the first time, but this time I made homemade blackeye peas, high in protein. My body said NOT TODAY!! I was doubled over, in pain, moaning and groaning. I'm going back on soups for a couple of days. I know others have experienced this, how did you deal with it? Just ride it out and not eat what caused this reaction again?

Females over 40, how "fast' did you lose with RNY?
Panda333 I like that you just wanted to hear from women. We have such a different struggle than men. Well I'm 58 and had RNY surgery on 7/25/19. My start weight was 235 I'm at currently at 189.8. At first the weight came off quickly but has slowed down. I'm trying to get more calories in and I'm walking 4-5 times a week. Did my first 5k walkathon yesterday. I'm thinking about joining a zumba class so I'm getting closer everyday. I'm sending encouragement to you, Good Luck.

I thank everyone for sharing this site for the medical bracelets. I've never heard of these bracelets before and think this is a great idea. The site has great choices and good information. I just ordered mine, YEAH!!!

Weight going up
Mousecat that is so true. That's when I weigh in and that's how I weigh in. I get the most accurate weigh in at that time.

Filling So Full
Thanks. Well thank God I'm not in pain and I can keep my food and vitamins down. So I guess I'll just flow with it. I just didn't understand why this happened when I haven't changed anything with my eating schedule.

Hair loss
That's nice. I love Auburn colored hair.

Filling So Full
I hit my 3 months on October 25th and the last 2-3 days I've been feeling super full, like I've eating a full plate of food. Yesterday, I literally made myself eat something. I can go all day and not eat anything. This wasn't happening before, I had myself on a really good eating schedule. Now it's a struggle, is this just one of those phases? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hair loss
Thanks everyone this is helpful because I just hit my 3 months and I was freakin out. But as long as I know it will grow back I'm good.

Weight going up
Lynda I was doing the same thing. The weight was initially coming off so good then I went up 5 pounds and almost cried. I was getting frustrated and decided to do what AJ said stop weighing myself daily. It was driving me crazy. I weigh weekly now, especially now since I'm 3 months out and on regular diet. I had my 3 month check up and everything is great but we did talk about the stahls, they told me to not worry to keep doing what I'm doing including exercising it will start dropping again. Stay encouraged!!

Plz congratulations to me!!
DITTO you look great.

Hair loss
Yes my vitamin has biotin as well but maybe I should take extra. It's really worrisome when this started happening.

Hair loss
Those who have experienced hair loss, what have you done? Does your hair grow back? This really bothers me.

Burping
Yesssss the burping is crazy but it's also a relief when it happens. I guess it's a better alternative than getting sick and throwing up. I know several people struggle with that.

Pouch dont feel tight when I eat..
Sometimes I've experienced the same thing except it's not a burn but rather a sharp pain. I've consulted my doctor and he believes the pain will stop when I'm completely healed because that's the area i had the most scar tissue. I had my surgery on 7/25 and I'm noticing that I'm not experiencing it as much. My question to you is did you have GERD? because the burning can be attributed to that.

Tastebuds And Smell
That's funny because my cravings are dill pickles and olives. I can't explain it because I'm not pregnant either[emoji1] .
-
is it just me?
Wow i thought i was crazy because I've been craving dill pickles and olives. I was telling my sister this is crazy plus my taste buds are so off. So those are one of the few things that taste normal to me.

Sleeve revision to RNY or Bypass reason
I had the sleeve surgery in 2015 i lost about 70lbs, then my Gerd came back with a vengence plus i had a hiatal hernia. I gained all my weight back and i decided to give it another try and revise my sleeve to gastric bypass. I'm so glad i did. My surgery was 7/25/19 and after my surgery my doctor told my sister that this surgery was necessary because once he got in there he had to do major repair from the sleeve surgery that was done as well as repair the hernia. He told her he understood why the sleeve was not successful. even though this is a weight loss surgery, for me it was more medical and i will still get the pleasure of losing the excess weight. So far I've lost 30lbs. I have no regrets.

How many calories do you eat a day?
Agreed, thank you

Major Stall...PLEASE HELP1
I'm frustrated as well with the stall, but I'm only 6 weeks out. I've been stalled since last week, i graduated to full diet and I'm exercising/walking more. But pounds are not moving. I commend you, at least you've lost almost 100lbs, that's a great accomplishment. I've only lost 28lbs so far.

5.5 weeks post lapband to gastric bypass
Catwoman7 I'm so glad to hear what you said about the stall. I had my surgery 7/25/19, my stall started last week and I'm still stalled this week. I'm hoping that it breaks soon.

Weight Fluctuation
It hard not to weigh in daily. I was keeping a daily journal of my weight and bmi which was for my doctors visits. But since I'm past my 5 weeks i don't go back for 2 months. I think weekly may work for me now.
