Help-Incision not healing?

Need some advice on my incisions. I'm 3 weeks post band and all my incisions look great except one small one. My surgeon had put dermabond on the outside of all the incisions. I was cleaning around them to remove the flaking dermabond. One of the incisions had a scab that came off. Now there is a tiny pinpoint hole in this incision. It's not tender or red. It's not really draining but it's not dry. Could it be a subcutaneous suture trying to make its way out? Has anyone had this happen? PAV

Yes. It happened to me too. I'm not gonna tell you what I did though, cause I'm sure some people would yell at me! LOL! Call your doc if it bothers you. He may snip the little booger out for ya. As long as it's not draining or red or swollen or anything like that, it should be okay. Put some TAO on it (triple antibiotic ointment). I also boiled mine out with peroxide.

I have had the same problem only I had the dissolving stitches put in (my LB doctor's choice) and one of my incisions opened up 2 weeks after the surgury. I called my LB doctor and he said there is nothing he can do for me because he won't restitch it. He only told me to wash it 3x a day with peroxide and leave it open dont pull it shut with steri strips... I was a littler angry a week to 10 days to heal hopefully it will work

You should have your doctor put silver nitrate in it. It is probably an infected stitch. It can tunnel and get BIGGER! IT can acutally get serious even they don't ususally.

Have your doctor look at it.

I found out that patience it the best thing, when mine opened up i could probably have fit a quarter in it, and it took longer than usual to heal. all I could do was put peroxide on it and tape a little piece of gauze over it to stop my shirt from going it it because I was back at school and I'm a mechanic. It healed after about 2 1/2 weeks it was very slow and I had to be careful.

But now i have a really nasty scar there. but I was told by the doctor after all the scars have healed up and the stitches have been long gone to put aloe vera gel and gently massage it in, it will help break down the scar tissue and make it so it doesn't stick out as much, and after time it will fade.

Had the same issue. Until you see your doc, try peroxide and a "bandage that breathes" - not plastic. That's what he had me do. It's fine now. If not, he can open it up and take out the stitch. That happened to me with a previous surgery - sounds worse than it is, I swear.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
