I sent my paperwork in at the beginning of the month and got the call two days ago and they gave me a surgery date of Jan 26th.

post op seminar was last night

Wed 18th apt with dr.

Thur 26th surgery.

I am nervous about slipping because I have a weak stomach and vomit easily.

And last night it hit me that when I am 75 I will still have the lap ban. I wonder how many surgerys I will have to have in the next 50+ years to correct slipping.

Congratulations! I am very envious because I am still awaiting my surgery date. I have been through so much pre-op testing and now I still have to take three nutrition classes, have a psych evaluation, plus two more doctor appointments! By the time my surgery comes around, I will have been doing this process for four to five months or longer! Best of luck with everything.

Don't fret over it, Sunta. I think most of us had at least a four month "waiting" period!! It stinks, but it goes by pretty quickly!!

Best of luck!

:clap2: I too got my date sooner than expected and it ws a little overwhelming, but then I realized what would I have done if I actually had more time anyways? I was already committed to getting banded so sooner was even better news! You will probably vomit, but the key is tolisten to your body as food is going in so that you don't have to listen to it coming out!!!!! Congrats on your date!

I also had the process go a lot faster than expected...about 3 weeks from first doctor appointment to insurance approval/surgery date. I think in a way that made it easier...once I'd made the decision, there was less time to agonize and second-guess myself! Only 10 more days to go!

congrats to all the newly approved bandsters!!! I remember how exciting it was when i got THE CALL. It was so great. I was in my car and cell phone rang. It was my surgeon's office saying they had recieved approval for my surgery and gave me the date of July 26, 2005. I was so over come with JOY that I actually had to pull my car off the road to sit and cry. The next person to know was my boyfriend Harry. It was a very exciting time for us both.

I hope you bask in the joy of approval and shine in the spotlight of post surgery bliss.

Best of luck to you all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
