Approved for surgery, but not approved for hospital stay

Hi, I received a letter from Aetna approving me for surgery, but they did not approve any hospital stays. My Dr. is appealing this. Just wanted to know have anyone experience this, and what was the out come? Help looking for some answer...I so want this surgery :(

    Hi - I received the same from my provider BC/BS NJ - Horizon. I called Barix and they informed me that this means I am approved since ambulatory stay is up to and including 23 hours. From the time I am admitted to my room, barring complications, I'll be out in less than 23 hours.

    I stayed overnight, but my surgery was around 3:00 on Tueday and I was released by noon on Wednesday.
