  1. I am 5 wks out and frustrated! No restriction and hungry! I loved the way I felt right after surgery and knew after eating hardly anything that I needed to stop. I did great. Now my mind is playing tricks on me and I don't feel restriction and want to keep eating. I am trying to have self control but this is really hard!!!! I go in 2 days for my first fill and hopefully this will set my butt straight.
  2. Myport is about 2 inches above and to the right of my belly button. My surgeon made a vertical incision that started in my belly button and is a little more than an inch long. This is where she inserted the port. I have 4 other incisions that are not quit 1/2 inch long. They were glued and my scars are very minimal. I am only 4 weeks out and they are not really noticable.
  3. Great job! I was banded on April11th and fluctuate between 18-20lbs down. It really makes such a difference. My clothes are fitting better already and I can't wait to see how much better things get in the future!
  4. On Monday, I got dressed and put on a pair of my jeans. They seemed a little looser but I thought it was just me. Maybe I already wore them and hung them back up. So yesterday was my first day back at work. I pulled my scrubs out of the closet and put on the pants. Wow! I have already lost quite a bit of room in my thighs and butt!!! They are no longer busting at the seams and are kind of baggy! Or, I guess it could be my stomach instead of my butt. Either way, it's sooo exciting! I can't wait to see what a little hard work will do!
  5. I had to reschedule my appt so I won't go for a consult until Tuesday. I'm still not too sure what I want to do. I'm just not a surgery kinda gal. I think I'll go to the consult but wait it out and see how things end up.
  6. Lmao! I'm sure we're all with you on the positions comment! The pin up photo shoot would be really fun!
  7. Yay! So I guess I have a chance to get back into 8's again? I've wondered why about 2 years ago I had to start buying 9's. WoooHooo!
  8. It's only week 1 for me and I'm now down 14.5 lbs. I put my jeans on and they aren't busting at the seams! It feels great!!! I can't wait to see what the future holds. I would like to get back into a 10 and I would be happy and satisfied. I'm an 18 now. I know before when I lost, it really puts you in a whole other mind frame. It's a totally different world. Be happy and vein but don't let it change what's in your heart or how you treat others. I can't even imagine being a size in the single digits! wow!
  9. Where should I start? 1) Become more active outdoors: hiking, camping, etc. 2) Participate in and possibly run in marathons 3) Jog on a regular basis. 4) Buy trendy clothes and ROCK them. 5) Stock up on new panties, bras, and lingerie and let out my inner kitten. lmao! 6) Take poll dancing lessons. Girls, don't be shy! We all know that most of us secretly wish we had the nerve to do this. I won't ever make it to the stage but I'm sure my husband won't mind. Shhhh, I won't tell! lmao!
  10. I was banded on the 11th. Everything is going great but I am curious about my port area. When I look down, that area is distorted and sticks out alot further than the other side of my stomach. Is this just due to swelling? Will it go down with time? I just hope this isn't going to remain like this forever!
  11. Great job! I hope I have that luck as it warms up. Just think....soon you will need to go on a shopping spree! whoo! Who wouldn't love that! Keep up the great work!
  12. Pictures are good to fall back on. We all have our down times where we easily get off track. I think by looking back at progress we lift ourselves up. I plan to take picture monthly. I hate having my pictures taken and I have hardly any of myself from the past 5 years. As I go through my journey, I want to be able to look at these pics and see a difference. I want a reminder that it takes time and hard work to get where I want to be and that I don't want to be back in this position EVER AGAIN!
  13. Keep in mind that the whole point of most of us being banded is that we have not been able to do it by ourselves! Don't get down on yourself or than will make it even harder to get back on track. Just take this as an eye opener. It's not an over night fix and is a lengthy process. Pick yourself back up and rejoin the race. I have not been banded yet and am sure I'll go through a lot of different emotions, too. Just be thankful you have already started. You don't have to wait till surgery next week. You have been banded and it's in your hands now. So don't wait! Congrats on your loss so far! I can't wait to be there, too!!! Maybe if you take some pics this will help you stay on a better track!
  14. I get my band on the 11th. YAY! I have been feeling all of the emotions that you described. I have found myself spending hours online reading everything. I then feel so much anxiety that I can hardly stand it. I recommend thay you go to youtube and search lap band. There are a lot of success stories on there. People have tracked their whole process on their. Between these 2 sites, I have found so much useful information and the anxiety has lessened, a little. Good luck! We'll do great!
  15. You all really need to call your insurance companys and double check. Just within the past couple of weeks, they are lowering BMI. A couple minutes on the phone beats paying out thousands when it's unnecessary. Good luck! My surgery is 9 days away. YAY!
