lap band Monday April 4th

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Brenda and I am 49 years old. I live in Washington State and am traveling to get my lap band done. Does anyone know how soon you can drive after. I am supose to be back to work on the 8th? So will have a three hour drive to get home.

I have been on the 4 EAS drinks and one lean cuisine a day since 3/26 and have lost 12 pounds, today I am feeling kind of down and thinking of the things I can't eat after lap band. My approval went so fast that I heard from the Weight lose center on 3/25 and started diet on the 26th. I thought I would have some time for a few dinner out, but wow! Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to this, I just thing the whole thing is just getting to me. I am going to work soon and that should help because I will not be home alone and will have to put on my happy face.

Only three days to go.....I can do this....my slimmer person is inside just weighting (lol play on words!) to get ou.

Hi Brenda!

I grew up in WA and only moved away 3 years ago. I hailed from the N. Snohomish County area! Where are you having your procedure? I'm a traveling patient also; coming from Wisconsin to Colorado.

Of course I'm not a doctor, but I think you'll be fine driving on the 8th. The question is whether or not you're messed up on pain meds, I think.

Oh, I see in another post you said Wenatchee. That's definitely not my neck of the woods in WA, lol. Of course I've been there quite a few times though. Another thing, you said in the GTKY thread that you're having ticker problems. Here's a thread that might help you...

I remember reading up on that place when first thinking about having this procedure done. Everett is definitely my old stomping grounds! Yes, you have quite the drive!

it's a great place, everyone who works in the office has been banded! The physc told me she was banded in Mexico before it became legal here. It really opens your eyes to see all the people who have been banded and done well. I think they have better answers and ideas to all the questions asked also.

Had my surgery as planned. I was admitted at 10:30 am and on my way by 3:30 the same day. I am feeling pretty good. I had the patch(scopalamine patch) put behind my ear and have not gotten sick once. One piece of advice I got was great. I was told to take my Hydrococdone every four hours and to take 600 mils of ibuprofen in between so that I was taking something every .two hours. I bought a timmer so I would wake up at night to take it..

I have been eating a yougert in the am and Soup at lunch and dinner . I am not really hungary but was told we need to eat to heal. I do notice I am burping a little more right now and have a little pain when getting up and down, but other than that this has so far been pretty easy. Oh I did have a sore throat for bout 4 hours, but that is it.

Hope everyone has a easy time with this as I did.

Congratulations, that's terrific Brenda!

It sounds like you had a good experience, I hope mine goes just as smoothly. That's definetly a good tip on the pain meds.... I'll definetly ask my doctor about it.

Keep up the great work.

Faith

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
