Does anybody know if this is safe?

Hello LB world! I went to see my doctor the last week of February. I haven't been losing weight as quickly as I expected for how little I have been eating. My doctor agreed and decided to do an x ray on my stomach and turns out--- I am full of poop and gas! Like FULL. Up to my breasts. It's gross. She told me what I could do to help, and I did it all. I did suppositiories, laxatives, Miralax in my Water and Activia. I eat plenty of fiber--I just have digestive issues. I know all the stuff she told me to try hasn't worked that well yet. So, I want to try Colonics. My doctor basically said that I can't have a fill until the poop is gone because there is no room in me for the saline. So, I paid nearly 16 thoudsand dollars and my band is not working like the tool it should be. Has anybody tried this? Do you know if it is a safe thing for Lap Banders?

Please help!

You don't need to allow yourself to be discourage by this.. You have lost 25.5 pounds with the help of the band. you are going to have hurdles which you can overcome.. Once you get rid of this poop you will be back on track.. my god daughter had two feet of poop she would hold her poop.. they are going to have to give you something that its a little stronger like the laxative they use to do a colonscopy tht might help get you some relieve. I am sorry that you feel horrible because of this.

I havn't had the issue you are having to deal with but my mom had low colonic motility the last 20 years of her life and had many colonic lavages to relieve the pain and cramping associated with stool retention. This was something she did with the supervision of a gastroenterologist while he worked on the root cause of the problem. Turns out she was a laxitive abuser and the colon wall muscles were not as effective at paristalsis as they were when she was younger. He did find that she wasn't drinking enough Water and when you don't drink enough the end of the colon extracts as much Fluid as it can get leading to Constipation and the need to turn to laxitives for relief. He told her that this constipation and laxitive use cycle was much more common in females. Just another bit on unfairness there for the girls. So if you aren't drinking 8-10 8 oz glasses of water a day I would start there. Try not to use laxitives and speak to your primary care physicain about colonic lavage as my knowledge in that area is certainly dated and second hand.

Good luck and I hope that you can rid yourself of the burden of all that stool and establish a regular routine that is good for you. Keep eating the Activia that live yogurt will eventually get you on track towards a more normal colon, plus it's good for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
