Surgery scheduled but now have to do a stress test?

I am scheduled for surgery finally a week from tomorrow and so excited. I went for my pre-op appointment today and mentioned that some doctors have noticed that I have PVC's (or irregular heartbeats) on an EKG. I just had gallbladder removal surgery 6 months ago and uterine surgery 6 months before that and I had no problems. Yet, my surgeon wants me to do a stress test where you run on the treadmill. Does this mean my surgery may be cancelled pending the results? Has anyone else had to do this?

I was lucky and was sent for a nuclear stress test on the same day as my pre op testing,,, then had to go thru a cardiac cath a week later, but all went well, and I had my surgery on schedule,,, Mar. 15. I am so glad things went as they did,,, and I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Best of luck!!!

I'm stressing about this also. Was squeezed in for a stress test on this coming wed morning but my surgery is the following Monday! I hope this also doesn't push my date back. Sighhh... just when I retired my sneakers cuz I thought the hurdle jumping was done!
