Liza, Good Luck to you. I'm so excited I can't sleep.

I can't get the tickers to work for me.

I for the longest time was over 200lbs couldn't lost weight. The past 3 months I lost 25lbs due to being under stress.

I was 190lbs on March 31st... April 12th I was 182lbs..Now I am 178lbs. My goal weight is 130lbs.

Hey Tia! Me too! Were you in the Pro-Op class? Are you who I talked to about coming here? :D

Hi! were you in pre-op class on 4/21? If so, I was there! I don't remember talking about coming to the website, though. What date is your surgery and who is your surgeon??

Hope everything went well. When you're up to it, let me know how things are going, how you're feeling etc. Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life!!

The 11th will be here before I know it.

Marcia

Hey! I'm feeling better. it's a bit painful and I'm sore but totally worth it. I had 1/4 cup of chicken broth and have been full for hours. It's an amazing feeling. It's definitely the beginning of a new life :)

So, have you started pre op diet?

May 4 here we come. I'm scared out of my mind

me too, me too, me too.....trying soooo hard not to freak out right now.

part of me is ready and part of me is scared. to. death.

I agree.. I am pretty terrified. I've been having a lot of second thoughts as my surgery gets closer!

Being banded on Wednesday feeling the nerves now!!!! Can't wait till it's over, did pre-op diet for 2 weeks didn't lose much but had more blood work done for my Cardiologist and an eccocardiagram today everything is great happy to say.

I'm being banded May 19th at London's Princess Grace Hospital. I'm very excited yet nervous. My surgeon isn't requiring the pre-op diet so I'm interested in what you are consuming. Will this be the same liquid diet you'll consume after the surgery? I think I will be on clear liquids for 2 weeks post op, mushy x 1 week and than regular. I'd really love to have an example of a typical day of the clear liquids. Does anyone know of a site that lists foods approved for the lap band diet post op? My husband is in the US Air Force stationed in the UK. I think that they are a little more relaxed on the pre-op diet here. I'm a little concerned that I should be stocking up on food before hand but have no idea. I was told I would see the nutritionist before discharge. It seems to be go with the flow attitude over here. Hard for my type A personality. Anyway ... any help would be appreciated.

On a side note: How do you get that ticker?

Every surgeon is different. my pre-op diet consists of protein shakes (5 per day) supplemented with broth, jello, popsicles and lots of water. after surgery it will be pretty much clear liquids only. i'll be able to have 2 protein shakes per day, diluted if they are too thick, plus the broth and drinks with an approved amount of calories. i will be having mostly V8Splash and Fuze because that is what i have stocked up on. you should maybe call your surgeon's office and see if there is an approved list of drinks/foods that you can consume post op.

this liquid pre-op diet hasn't been a walk in the park, but i definitely am not as scared to go to an all liquid diet after surgery as i would have been had i just gone cold turkey. as much as i have griped about it, i'm glad i did it.

tomorrow is the big day for me....though i am having 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th thoughts about it. i'll just keep having 2nd thoughts about it until my mind gets back to "yes, let's do this":D

May 9th at 10am. Today is day 9 of the liquid diet and i had eggs last night cause the cravings were over the top. I will tell the surgeon when I do my pre-op on Thursday.

Did anyone else eat something a week prior to their surgery ?

Good Luck everyone..........

I bought the magic bullet last weekend.......lets hope it does well with a protein shake, havent tried that yet.

First thing I tried to make in it was chocolate mousse...lol(sugar free of course)

My surgery is May 24th!!

I bought the magic bullet and I love it!

May 4 here we come. I'm scared out of my mind

I start my liquid diet tomorrow and my surgery is May 11th!!! I'm so excited. The nurse at the hospital said a guy wan't allowed to stay over night with me at the hospital. Does that mean my husband wouldn't be allowed? I'm having a friend stay with me anyway so my husband can go to work the next day. Hopefully they'll allow her to stay.
