Good to see you over on this side. I had my band yesterday too. I feel really good today but I was hurting a lot yesterday from the gas pains in my shoulders. Today hey are mostly gone and I got down a Protein shake earlier and have been doing a lot of walking.

Yay congratulations! I am 8 days post op and let me tell you. Before I scare you, we all know everyone experiences the after affect of the surgery in different ways, so you may feel amazing lol. I had severe pain in my neck from the gas, dry heaving, nauseous and on the verge of death, so it felt.;) lol I want to give you hope that it is worse before it gets better. :-D Being able to come on here has been a true blessing!

We are all here for your support. It's great being able to ask questions knowing that the people who are answering, have lived what we are going through!

Best of luck to you.

I had my surgery this morning and before I went in the doctor told me that some people get gas pains that settle into their backs rather than their shoulders...and I'm apparently one of them. Strangely enough, the majority of the pain I've been dealing with today is in my back! Any suggestions on how I can get this to ease off a bit?

I had my surgery on Wed and yesterday I had the killer shoulder and neck pain from the gas. Walking around really helps to expel the gas. I am having up & down moments --- my pain medication does help though. Good luck on your journey!! I hope all of us newly banded members have the success that so many on this site have had. It's been great looking through here and seeing all of you doing so well while having normal struggles! It definitely gives me hope because I was feeling pretty scared! :-)

Jennedge, I get up and walk a lot and that has helped get the gas out. I have also been taking the gasX strips and putting one of those thermocare wraps on my back. It's like having a portable heating pad on. If you get some though, get the kind for your lower back and you can put it up higher on your shoulders. The ones that go on your shoulders are smaller and they only have two small sticky pads that don't stay on very well. The ones for your lower back go all the way around your body and have velcro on them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
